Im going to be running about 2500 watts in my 2006 mercury mountaineer premier w/ 4.6 L. At first i was thinking about just getting a rear batt, keep stock batt and alt up front. then doing the big three. Could I just get a 250 amp alt from mechman and big three then run the stock batt? without buying a rear battery? Thanks.

i think im just going to do 1" wooden dowels. so this would be fine wouldnt it?
-
birds eye/top view..?
umm still would work just lower... and if ur using allthread you might as well run the pieces all the way thru each panel since you cant really tie the allthread together, each rod is only as strong as it by itself
if your flush mounting the sub, might want to add another baffle so there is at least two baffles for the screws/tnuts to bite into/and support
what sub
it would be doubled on top, flush mounted. it would sit port up sub up in my car. sub is dc lvl 4 xl.
-
sub has a 9.25" mounting depth btw
-
this is what i would do with 1" dowel rods
are you using allthread or dowel rods
if dowel rods, i made them intersect as much as possible since it makes the whole box stronger if ur not gonna use resin
if i would it would most likely be the threaded metal rods

how thick mdf are u using? and what program did u use to design that?
it will be 3/4, and i didnt make it uhoh did... its sketchup tho
-
if im doing a box like this:
would i need some sort of bracing? i dont really plan on doing any resin

what kind of speaker wire should i get for sub to amp?
-
ok, so just making sure... i need 2 300 fuses for between batts, then 1 250 fuse between batt and amp?
right now i have the rockford fosgate 4 guage install kit installed for current system - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1172276905085
should i get some knu rca cables and swap them out? also is the speaker wire that the kit comes with fine to wire up from sub to amp? or should i get a bigger guage?
any1?

cant i just ground the amp to the negative on the second battery then ground the battery to my chassis?
-
around 6.5 i believe
ok, so the port is about 21 1/2" tall right?
-
how many cubes is it after port displacement? more than 6?
-
9 cubes before displacement 129^2 port tuned to 33hz
thanks, thats sick

can someone please design me a box on sketchup or something?
size of sub: 1 18" sub
- sub: dc lvl 4 xl
- amp: aq 2200d
- car: 06 mercury mountaineer premier
- max dimentions: 23 wide by 23 high by 38 deep
- i want it tuned to 32-34
- i want it to be sub up, port up, double baffle so sub fits flush, 45 degree corners
- 3/4 mdf
thanks in advance
-
i would want to eventually, but not now... maybe around summer
-
so 2 200 fuses between batts, then another 200 fuse between amp and batt right?
-
300A is too big. The amp itself only draws 200. So I'd say 225.
is 250 still too much?
-
Sounds like you have everything figured out
Id go with the wire on ebay from coppercableman
For the price of one kenetick you could buy two bluetop optimas for the rear and a redtop for the front
ya i dont want to spend that much on a batt... couldnt i just get a yellow top for the rear?

would i need 2 or 3
-
I would go with Knu Fleks 1/0 wire http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.c...20Fleks%20Kable
Your wiring looks good and im not to sure about the fuses. I think 300 amp fuses would be good.
3.40 per foot right?
-
Im going to do 1 18" lvl 4 xl dc with a aq 2200d amp
- for wiring, should i do kicker 1/0, or monster 1/0? or something else?
- im also going to add another batt, so i will have one under the hood, one in the trunk... what kind of batt would be good for this?
- would i need 3 fuses? so 1st batt----(fuse)----------------(fuse)----2nd bat-----(fuse)----(amp)
- would a 300 anl fuse be good? i believe theres different coatings on them (gold and silver) would there be a significant difference?
i believe thats it...
