  1. if you go wider you can make it shallower. then making it possible to remove the spare tire with out even removing the box.

when i get home tonight i iwll post up a picture of the box i built my customer. if it wasn't for his amp rack he could still remove his tire and have no issues.

  2. well i just got off the phone with diamond audio. great customer service over there. understood the issue. its a known problem that just rears its head over time. not something that is apparent from day one. the age of this amp puts it in the previous owners (of diamond) design series and is no longer fixed in house. so they gave me the contact information for these guys. the only place in the US that fixed diamond amps. http://www.electronicexpressinc.com/ so my customer will be pulling the amp out and shipping it off in the next few days. then once back from repair i will trek over to his place and rehook up and retune everything. glad it seems to be getting taken care of easy. the repair comes with a 3 month warrenty also.

  3. no it doesn't. it operates just normally. but that damn LED stay's on. note the end of the original post i put a toggle switch in. i used an illuminated one i had laying around so he could see the lighted toggle turn off. once off the amp stopped playing music. click it on boom boom music plays.

    oh nikitaaa nice score yesterday!

  4. so here is the deal. i'm no noob to the game but i have the oddest issue ever i have run into.

i installed the amp listing in the title. it's installed in a 2011 jeep wrangler 4dr. the issue is the power LED stays on no mater what. i can disconnect the 12v switched and the LED stays on. no little strands from the 12v constant are jumping over to the remote. the remote power source i used is the 12v switched power outlet on the dash. i did this because of the fact the owner wanted to maintain the factory deck due to it having satellite radio. the LED staying on wouldn't be as big of a deal really but the owner doesn't drive long distances and it trickle drains the battery over the course of a couple months. funny a little LED does this but it's the case. the owner noticed it about 2 weeks after the install but never mentioned it until the battery dead celled. then he called to ask if i had done something wrong. so i just spent the last 3 hours trouble shooting it. only to find out i had done my part right but the amp just likes to stay on. i even hooked up a toggle switch to show the customer that the issue lays inside that amp. any input would be great.

i will be calling diamond audio tomorrow morning and asked whats up.

biggest issue is the customer is a long time friend of mine and i really feel bad. business is business but this one is a little more personal.

  5. Tune with the car off. The difference is less than 1dB of gain overlap and has already been factored in because the amplifier is unloaded when the speakers are disconnected.

BOOM! thank you tony. i have tuned with my oscope since day one with the cars off. i have always figured its such a short time in the life of a battery(s) its not going to make it that much different.

  6. by thumping is it like a test tone? that would be an rca thing in my book. i had an old audio control 4xs go haywire and just burp like a low hz test tone when ever it wanted. then the next minute it would be ok. ended up being a bad sub output on the mother board. not the actual unit but the plug. the soilder came loose.

  7. i have only done a couple trunk escorts. sadly they where all prefab style box builds. no real full trunk stuff. i am doing a full trunk right now ironically. but if i was to play with it i would put the sub forward and port threw the rear deck lid. you will have to angle the faceplate a little but i think the opening is about 15 inches so its not going to be much. that or do a down fire bandpass. ports again threw the rear deck lid and acheive your sealed portion in a shallow large surface area across the trunk. im not really familiar with the treo subs so i don't know how well they like sealed life. but im sure there are plenty of people around here that are.

  8. so you want 4 tens. but cant fit them behind the seats. so your going to put them up high so you band your head on them all the time. and you can't do a blow threw because it will degrade the value of the truck......hhhrrmmmm? i think you're slowly solving your own issue. i for see the answer being you getting out of the stereo game.
