  1. corey - you had a first generation with teh rub surround huh? yes teh spider glue was bad on alot of them. they since changed glues adn teh surrounds are foam. as for the terminal no reason there.

everyone else these are hot movers. check in with them regularly. i jsut got 3 set and a 5.25 set 3 weeks ago. mine are all sold to custoemrs waiting for install dates.

  2. i have put these in several peoples cars. they are great. for 100 bucks you can't go wrong. im a DD dealer but also so i may be a littel bias. the shallow mount design with good excursion is a double bonus. the 25mm silk tweet is saft soundign yet still loud. only down fall i see to them is that audioque being the sister company has the adjustable slope. other then that they are identical. mounting and power.

im about to drop two sets in a mustang fox body as front stage off the DD c5c. so figure that out.

  3. other then the adjustable tweeter db they seem to the be the same as the DD CS6.5's. i have installed 5 sets of the DD's in the last year and not one customer has been disappointed nor have i. i ran them in my daily for about 6 months. great midbass and love power. i ran around 120 rms to them and as long as i had my crossover set to 100hz and above they never bottomed out.

  4. I just don't want to use Ys and cut the voltage in half, I have 2 4v preouts, id have to use a Y on one the rear/sub preout and in turn wouldn't that make my subs not hit as hard? Could I use a 2 way crossover going from the front preout on My HU to the crossover and run the lpf to the door sub amp and the hpf to the 4 channel, then use the rear/sub preout on my HU and go straight to the amp?

y spilters will not and do not split your voltage in half it will give 4 volts to both amps

thats like saying if you have a distro block on your power wire and 2 amps each amp will get 6 volts lol

    oh noes 6 volts! LOL

  5. steve next time they do the Bonneville salt flats day go and see what it can do for fun should be pretty fun hell add a few more power adders and get in the 200mph club i think your car could with say a super charger and the n20 maybe some cams computer re map
the salt flats ruins cars! had a friend who used to live down there. he saw the aftermath of 200 mph run cars and what the salt does to the bottom sides of them. also the n2o and a supercharger aren't going to make him any faster on the top end. it just going to get you threw the gears faster. gears are gears poweradders won't change that. yea i didn't think about what the salt does to the cars probably eats them up

also steve when we ganna see a 1/4 mile run at the strip?

not so much eats them up. but just cakes them like frosting. then in the long term if not cleaned properly the eatting begins!

  7. it is a budget minded build so i have the CS series components. he wasn't wanting to drop change on the germans and i'm a DD dealer. they are a slim mount design and are not super heavy with pretty nice output. just i know the 2 8's in the hatch is going to cabin gain like crazy and i have never run a pair of 8's off 1k either. so its a real cluster. but the outcome will be great. this i know!

  8. ok guys enough panty snapping.

i most likely have enough room for two sets of 6.5's like originally stated. i may enclose the 5.25's or the scond 6.5 in the pod where i will let the second woofer breath. this is all in the planning stage in my head still. i don't have the car here yet. but i do have 5.25's and 6.5 components sitting on shelf waiting await the verdict.

any input even if its BS is nice just to hear some opinions.

  9. so im planning on building some doors for a more SPL side of life car but i want some highs. i was thinking of doing a 2 set of components in the doors. i was originally planning on doing two 6.5" components sets with tweets. however after further thinking i was considering of changing it to one set of 6.5's and a set of 5.25's. will i run into any phasing issues? im thinking the change just to mix up the look a little. either way it will be nice.
