  1. a few vids My first hairtrick with my daughter. She's only 8 and is already a bass-head
  2. It hasen't dropped below 12.5 yet. When the alternator's charging, it stays between 13.5 and 14.5.
  3. Got the box back and got the subs mounted. Got the amps on the rack and all installed in the CRV. I'll try to get some vids tomorow. It's flexin the roof like crazy though. I've still got to get the alternator installed along with the big 3. I bought some CDT 6.5's and tweets. I need to get them hooked up to the 100.4 Sundown.
  4. The lug was very loose. I just crimped a little to hold it in place while I soldered. It was not a tight crimp at all and there was still plenty of room for solder. After melting a generous amount of solder, I heated the lug and pulled the solder down into the wire and lug to make the joint. Then, I filled in the top.
  5. I followed the instructions here http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=6399 Melted my first 2 or 3 attempts. I bought a few feet of 0 gauge from welding supply to practice on. Here is what it looked like after I got the hang of it. I think this is my 4th saulder
  6. Haven't really kept up. I just joined a few forums and did a couple months of research. I'm glad I put some time in front of the computer before purchasing. Also, I've been bugging the hell out of the guy who built my box with question after question. I wanted to choose a company who stood behind their product. The guys at Sundown have returned all my email questions in 20 minutes or less. "Can't beat that for CS"
  7. AVH-P5000DVD I put in a tiny toggle switch to bypass the parking break
  8. Knu signal and speaker wire Running Knu wires Running 0 gauge Fosgate fuse holder under the hood Grommets from Darvex Finally got the hang of using a torch. I wish I had snapped a pic of the ones I melted Grounds for Big 3 I'm having the box made by Matt Hawkins here in Houston. I cut out this amp rack and had it sprayed with bedliner to match the box. Knu Fuse holders. 200amp and 300amp
  9. I haven't built a system in at least 20 years. In high school, I had 2 fosgate 12's pushed by 2 punch 75's. Well, here it goes. I started off with this JVC, but it wasn't very user friendly I sent it back and got this Pioneer I'm getting to know the UPS guy SAZ-3000D SAZ-100.4 2 Nightshade 15" DC Power 290 amp alternator
  10. Its a 2003 Honda CRV with a Powermaster D5100 and stock alternator (for now). It's not from cycling the key on and off too quick because it does it after the vehicle has been sitting all night.
  11. I haven't tied them together but I did re-run all the wiring. It worked fine for a bit then started goofing up again The malfunction is very inconsistent. Sometimes it works fine and sometimes it don't
  12. I really feel like a idiot sometimes. I bought a Pioneer AVH-P5000DVD. I ordered a Stinger digital voltmeter to go along with my future electrical upgrade. The meter keeps craping out on me whenever I turn the car on or off. One time, it only illuminates the Stinger symbol, the next time it works fine. The next time, it only illuminates a few lights. Then, the next time a couple of the led lights stay on after turning the car off. If I disconnect it from the battery, it resets and works fine for a while. I think it's just a bad meter but I want to make sure I have it installed correctly before I send it back. I have the red constant 12V wire connected directly to the battery, the ground is connected to the chassis and the blue 12v trigger wire is connected to the red ignition switch 12v wire on the back of the Pioneer.
  13. I have the closed end lugs for the big 3. Can I just fill with pieces of rosin core solder, melt with a torch and then insert the cable end?
  14. This connection is for the HO Alternator. Will soldering withstand the heat and vibration over time.
  15. Mine came in last week. I'm waiting for some other supplies then I'll be getting it hooked up
