  1. see imo i would think that 1 side would still make a difference but ill listen to one of the best........

i se what your saying, but .......do this

    expierament,lol

go to the local parts store

get a quart of resin,a pack of .75 oz matt

make 2 flat pieces of glass 1'x6"

    first piece,5 layers of matt

second piece 1layer of matt, glue down 2 pieces of rope, dowell,or even a couple pencils,,,,,to create 2 arches ,do 1 layer of matt over the pencils....wet it out real good,no air pockets(white spots) 2 layers of matt, total

let them both cure...and tell me which one you could bend... :D

  2. also, if u keep ur fiberglass flat, mdf is usually stronger. fiberglass is good for curves and whatnot but not for straight pieces. :-X

    hence the rope... more curves

but one side is flat so not really.

Yes really... ;D the one side still being flat means nothing as far as strength goes fiberglass is weak.....flat____________

but  any where there is  a corner or a contour it gains strength tremendously..

    ____________= :V

    ----^---^---^---= :^

as long as those arches are in the  back side, the front side being flat....means nothing....

  3. wow 1/2 gal of the foam will become 30xs its liquid state, thats 15galons (size wise) of space filled and for 37dollars is way way cheaper than the can stuff :^

if you are not carefull with it,and it dont have breathing holes for the gasses to escape,it WILL bend the shit out of a cars sheetmetal...

  4. looks great,keep em comin....

and I wasnt born with this lol..but ..Ive always veen very artistic,When I was young I could draw ANY car you named...free hand  with no pic to look at..and they were very detailed...But i havent picked up my art supplies since i was probably 17 :- my glass is my art now...

  5. So I'm starting up a build tomorrow, putting in a 12" LCD into my dash and i guess I'll make my way down to Tap plastics to get some supplys. Any certin resin and filler I should get to mold to my dash? .....   :^  ......Evercoat Fibertech or the flex fill stuff from Urithan Supply Company...

The other thing I want to do is smooth out the texture on the dash and paint it up. should I sand down what's there or should I spot fill it then sand it down?

Sand it with 150 to  scratch it up,and hit it with a high build primer, like Evercoat Slicksand, sand it and paint it.... :^

    Tim

Also whats going to hold up to the bass shaking the shyte out of everything?

let me know what will make my life a little easier, Thanks, Bill
