    goin with the 570(thanks blazer), what size amp should i try to get(howm many watts) and does brand really matter?

    Np man, and to be honest if you want to go safe..when i had my 12's i had them on a Rockford Fosgate p300 and that little bastard slammed for what it was

    300 watts but the birthsheet said 422 wats..so that would be safe

    Brands matter to a point..ima RF man myself (Just cause my dad was)

    Alpine,JL Audio all those mainstreams are good

    And of coarse all the brands on SMD Fi,DC,Sundown,DAT,RE ect

    Hell look into a DAT amp ive heard nothing but good from them

    Ive never heard of them..so cant tell you what amp would work good on them untill we got the spec's of the sub,Asfar as a box i would most def say a portedbox..if your handy with wood 50$ tops for a box.Not so handy with wood BassBox Pro Prefab box..had one for some 12's i had before i got my big boy system and it was great.

    Alright guys knew a few people wanted a video of the Eletric air horn on my alarm here's the video

    *This is not a alarm this is a video of an air horn i added to my alarm* To make my alarm louder

    Little more info..it takes a 100 watt speaker and puts out 100 watts comes with a PA (Public Adress) aswell,i have mine also wired up to my factory horn (So i dont have a "factory horn") its all the time airhorn.When connecting you need to find your horn wire in your alarm and tie it in (No need for a relay all it is doing is triggering relays in the box you mount inside the car)

    i love this thing..actually i got this before i got my alarm lol

    BTW right now this post is not intended to sell this stuff at all i would not disrespect Steve or the SMD staff at all trying to sell stuff with out permission..just showing what/how to make your alarm stupid loud

    i wouldnt mind selling them to the SMD members at all actually i talked to my boss and as long as i get the ok from Steve and the SMD staff ill make a post giving prices (SMD Members Discount pricing) for the set up.

    i runa PAP12 siren speaker "air horn tone" alarm its a 100 watt speaker and its loud as hell..i build police cars for a living and the place i work at we sell all Whelen stuff

    The PAP12 comes with the AIR HORN TONE and a PA mic..speaker is sold sepretly..i can get prices for all of SMD guys in a bit (we sell speakers aswell)

    give me a few and ill be able to get a video up aswell

    ok well i got it.. and i kinda have it working... i can have it arm and disarm... but i cant set it off.. its sitton on the bench and i have it wored up to the battery charger ( 12 amps only ) and it still work go off if i tap on it or anything... any ideas? theres a hole for the shock sensor or what ever but the guy said he dident have that hooked up and it works fine?

    if im not mistaking you need the shock sensor...that only leaves it to where..if you open the door alarm goes off...you start the car alarm goes off....BUT! if you take out the window and climb in and start handing stuff off to a buddy the alarm will not go off

    that might be your problem..when you say you cant get it to go off are you arming then hitting you car..if so there is your problem..should go off if you arm then try to open the door

    Let me know!

    EDIT: If that indeed is the case then the alarm will work..just not on a impact only when a door is opened..i would try to find a shock sensor most case's with a break in on cars is a impact hit (IE taking your window out)
