This thing WILL make me buy my first piece of Sundown equipment. I only hear good things about Sundown and over time I have seen the things they come out with and what their lineup is like as well as performance longevity and the endless consumer side of it and it all seems to impress me. The chrome step down on the motor is friggen sweet looking to me. I have seen chrome on motors and the large triple and quad stacked and whatever inbetween but those just look like pure sex to me, honestly. I know it will be a bit of time before one could have these in their rig but damn I think these are gonna have a lot of people rethinking.
Looks are one thing but remember one other thing. Everything Jacob does has an actual purpose in its mechanical design not just a " It makes it look cool" factor.

It's prolly not legal to take flat out like below 9 sec.... Need more roll cage
Like my car right now, I can prolly put down a time that's faster than the car is safe so the track would boot my ass
If that car isn't faster than the 9.5~10 sec I'd be embarrassed there are a lot of 10 sec street cars, there are basically no 8sec street cars which this isn't so I would hope it's very low 9s
You familiar with the name Larry Larson? And his time was beat this year on drag. -
As far as the time on that run with the isf, listen to the run. It sounds more like a licensing pass than a full out run. That motor never even hit full rpm b4 any of the shifts.

If you want to see that teams bad ass car, go look at their Supra.
Starts getting good at about 9:50 -
sounds like a sexual exhaust shop joke.
" I'll just put the tip in" lol

As the intelligent ones of us know, opinions are like ass holes and most of the time they stink. Dude just needs to move on. Its not his car, he doesnt see the lights for himself and how they react in your lenses so all in all, his opinion or "fact" as he calls it is irrelevant. As long as you are happy with the outcome Steve, Fuck the other guys "FACT"

Cloud77, Sundown recones are made at Sundown headquarters, not over seas.

Am i missing something here? Went from the 125.4 which was a lot smaller than the older amps had always been and now the new 100.4 is released and its back to a large case design like that number amp originally was.
Are the 125.4's being killed off already and the numbering went backwards?

Back on topic here, As N8 said. If you want Zv4's, buy Zv4's. The tight gap will limit what you can do musically and turn it into more of a burp only sub.
But being the fs is so low on these subs, it wont do well as a burp sub either. Trying to burp something in a vehicle that will peak typically in the 40-50 hz range with an fs that low will cause you to have lower numbers than it would with a more typical sub type.

Let me draw a map for those that cant apply some common sense. Check outside the box at the terminal cup if there is one. If no reading is present, then check it at the sub while checking the wires at the same time making sure none of them have come loose or have a connection problem...
-
if its a cheaper prefab box, make sure the wires havent come off of the terminal cup that the sub is hooked to for your amp wires to hook to too.
-
why go through all of that when he can just ohm test the terminals first to check coils?
-
-
and after seeing and wiring up 8 zv4's today in person, the pics and vids you have seen do not do that monstrous surround justice...
-
.5 daily on a somewhat noob ( sorry man, its just a term) who i am sure likes his WARRANTY!!!!!!!
anything below 1 ohm voids the warranty

Still running V-Belts or did you do a serp belt conversion ?

Where are the bigger amps at ?
Bigger amps? Just how big are you wanting?

I don't see that there has been any new testing going on as of recently that Jacob himself will have posted anywhere considering he has been at home with the new baby.So what's the update on testing? Any new i
Derrick has the pics and videos to upload later... but we got up to 145.5 dB @ 25 Hz today in testing @ 1970 clamped watts. We are looking forward to trying two of them on an NS-1 with upgraded electrical when production arrives... 150 @ 25-30 Hz with two 12s... maybe ?
Any new info on testing? Or about the sub ?
He is not the only person at sundown... I'm sure more than 1 person is working in testing...
You are correct, he isnt the only person at sundown but when it comes down to testing new variations and building them, he is the man that handles pretty much all of that. Its his name and companies reputation on the line and he wants to know that what he is putting together with different various spiders, spacers, cone combinations ect. is up to par for what he is wanting out of that particular product.
This isnt just me talking out of my ass here either. I had a little conversation with one of Jacobs very long time reps/helpers about this on the phone Friday night along with various other things regarding how things are going with the company and Jacob himself in regards to the new born.

How soon can we get info like this on the 15" Z v4?
Really needing to know the cut out and outside basket diameter w/o a gasket for Cliff Beals van so we can prepare the baffle asap for the new drivers and see if any additional work may need to be done clearance wise.
Thanks
Chris Carter
Thank you kindly.
