  1. This thing WILL make me buy my first piece of Sundown equipment. I only hear good things about Sundown and over time I have seen the things they come out with and what their lineup is like as well as performance longevity and the endless consumer side of it and it all seems to impress me. The chrome step down on the motor is friggen sweet looking to me. I have seen chrome on motors and the large triple and quad stacked and whatever inbetween but those just look like pure sex to me, honestly. I know it will be a bit of time before one could have these in their rig but damn I think these are gonna have a lot of people rethinking.

Looks are one thing but remember one other thing. Everything Jacob does has an actual purpose in its mechanical design not just a " It makes it look cool" factor.

  2. It's prolly not legal to take flat out like below 9 sec.... Need more roll cage

Like my car right now, I can prolly put down a time that's faster than the car is safe so the track would boot my ass

If that car isn't faster than the 9.5~10 sec I'd be embarrassed there are a lot of 10 sec street cars, there are basically no 8sec street cars which this isn't so I would hope it's very low 9s

You familiar with the name Larry Larson? And his time was beat this year on drag.
  3. As the intelligent ones of us know, opinions are like ass holes and most of the time they stink. Dude just needs to move on. Its not his car, he doesnt see the lights for himself and how they react in your lenses so all in all, his opinion or "fact" as he calls it is irrelevant. As long as you are happy with the outcome Steve, Fuck the other guys "FACT"

  4. Back on topic here, As N8 said. If you want Zv4's, buy Zv4's. The tight gap will limit what you can do musically and turn it into more of a burp only sub.

But being the fs is so low on these subs, it wont do well as a burp sub either. Trying to burp something in a vehicle that will peak typically in the 40-50 hz range with an fs that low will cause you to have lower numbers than it would with a more typical sub type.

  5. So what's the update on testing? Any new i

Derrick has the pics and videos to upload later... but we got up to 145.5 dB @ 25 Hz today in testing @ 1970 clamped watts. We are looking forward to trying two of them on an NS-1 with upgraded electrical when production arrives... 150 @ 25-30 Hz with two 12s... maybe ?

Any new info on testing? Or about the sub ?

I don't see that there has been any new testing going on as of recently that Jacob himself will have posted anywhere considering he has been at home with the new baby.

He is not the only person at sundown... I'm sure more than 1 person is working in testing...

You are correct, he isnt the only person at sundown but when it comes down to testing new variations and building them, he is the man that handles pretty much all of that. Its his name and companies reputation on the line and he wants to know that what he is putting together with different various spiders, spacers, cone combinations ect. is up to par for what he is wanting out of that particular product.

This isnt just me talking out of my ass here either. I had a little conversation with one of Jacobs very long time reps/helpers about this on the phone Friday night along with various other things regarding how things are going with the company and Jacob himself in regards to the new born.
