  1. i have 2 15" t1's in about 7 cubes after sub and bracing displacement tuned to 30hz they drop low, get loud and are still really clean on rock music (i lilsten to everything) why sealed? ported can have just as good sound quality, just gotta build right. my set up is subs up prt back on a slot port. im gunna rebuild soon and see of subs up port back on the driver side will be any louder. but i am very happy with my current set up. just a little greedy on the numbers. wanna get as loud as possible. then again mines in a blazer. if your keeping um trunked i would try and port through the rear deck, behind the rear seats

  2. oh and about the second battery, yea run a + from the battery onder the hood to your battery in the trunk and that'll take care of it since that bat is already connected to the alt. also about blowing the subs... im pretty sure rms power for a q is 1000 so you could feed them some more juice. but take care of your electical 1st, no point of giving more power if your just gunna starve the amp of voltage, then you blow stuff

  3. if your subs are dual 1's here are your choices

a- wire each sub in series.. + to + bringing the load down to .5 for each woofer and than parralel to the amp = 1 ohm

b- wire each sub paralel... - to + on coils making each sub 2 ohms and then + to - from woofer to woofer = 4

as long as i didnt screw that up.. makes sense in my head, if you have questions on wiring your stuff just go to rockfordfosgate.com go to the wiring wizzard and type in what you got. it'll give you all possible wiring combos for your woofers to not blow up

  4. yea i usually use 3/4 mdf and double up on the baffle (side where the subs go)so that its 1 1/2. i would also get some wood dowels from home depot and run one horizontal and 1 vertical just to be safe. you should be ok with that, but extra never hurts. alot of people like to use fiber glass to add some strength. theres alot of different ways. just look stuff up and see what you like best. overkill can be good but not enough can reeeaaallly suck

  5. how cheap is cheap? you could go cheap on a H/O alt. but you ussualy get what you pay for company's like dc power and mechman are a little on the expensive side but its well worth it. they give you what you pay for not like some of the other companies who rate there stuff at 250 amps when they don't ever see that kind of power

Edit: i type to slow lol

  6. No such thing as underpowering a sub. :01nocomment8so:

Also that amp has 4x30amp fuses, meaning it probably makes about 1200-1500 rms. Just so you know what you're really working with.

good info, thanks im glad someone else has actually heard of this amp cuz everyone i talk to just says what amp? lol. so at that power im trying to decide on 2 level 3's or level 4's, dont really have any experience with dc subs wanted to know what you guys think would be a better match. i like my 15's dont really have enough air space for 18's though..
