Anyone deal with Sonicelectronx
cqtama replied to miniSPLlancer's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
they're good. usually ship quickly and have decent costumer service. that being said, they're cheaper than going to the store, but their are better deals online. -
well its not just power, in order to gain 3 db i believe its double power along with double the output source (2nd of the same woofer) so for example if you have 1 15 on 2000 watts in order to gain 3 db you need to add another of the same 15 in the same type of box with the same power effectively doubling your output source adding 3 db to your total output.

the way i look at it it can be beefy or cheesy. and nobody wants a cheesy sub, theirs no substance. you want lots of beef on your sub cuz it fills you up. hence beefy (large motor) fills up the sound. seriously though its just an adjective. its just like calling someone chubby. its got some meet on it so most people say subs are beefy cuz they have a large motor or magnet.

used to have an hx2 12 when i had a jeep. they sound good, but i wouldn't pay more than 50. you could probably get someone to buy it for 100 there good subs

straight from crescendo man i have 2 of their amps. just hit up the website. what do you want to know? i know i have a 2 year warranty down to a half ohm and it does 3100 watts at 1 ohm. definitely baddass amps

if you can fit 2 0 gauge wires in an amp as opposed to 1 0 gauge wire you'll have better current flow. its the same as increasing the wire size from 4 to 0. your just adding more 0

sounds like your amp is going into protect. it only does all this stuff when your moving right? could be a loose wire maybe you messed up your wiring and its a .5 ohm instead of 4. you also said you saw a screw in your port? take your subs out and find out where that came from. how did you set your gains? could be clipping everything and your just lucky o have a protect circuit stopping you from blowing it up. you said your amp was smoking? is it warm to the touch? if you messed up your wiring you could be running to low of an ohm load heating your amp up sending it into thermal protect. theres a lot of possibilities here. is it possible for any of your amps/ box/ batteries anything to move around?

crescendo 3kwp. 3000 @ 1 ohm 4300 @ .5 ohm $550

depends on your goal for this build but you can do ALOT with 5 grand. i would look into crescendo amps, they're beast for not much $. what ever subs and amps you decide on i would check out dc power for alternators maybe get a duel alt. kit. and some really nice batteries because with that kind of money you should have lotsss of power.

what subs
cqtama replied to HotRodHam's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
oh boy you have lots to learn on here. buy a matching sub for one of those. build a decent box and don't over power/clip the shit out of them and blow them again. and as far as dougee goes if he wires the D4 up to 8 then he can wire the 2 8's back down to 4 i suppose but i don't see how he could get 8 ohms out of that. idk EDIT: yea just re-read the op most of what you described is impossible i'd like to know how this stuff is wired Think about physical woofers, actual coils. What happens when you wire an 8ohm coil in either series or parallel to a 4ohm coil, and then series/parallel to another 4ohm coil. I don't think it would work too well. @OP, I guess that possibility could work, I didn't really think of it like that. Is your box prefab ? no i had a company here that sells subs make it for 250$ you paid $250 for a ported box for 2 12's? its only about $50 in parts. learn to build boxes and you'll save a crap ton of money
