  1. So i have a problem with my current setup. i currently have 2 alpine type r 15's with a 2600 watt hifonics brutus amp. Well my last head unit was a full color sony and the bass hit pretty good except the low notes were just powerfull. Now i recently switched to a touchscreen JVC the only issue i have with that is now there is only one line out for subs so i used a splitter so both the left and right are hooked up. Well to put it this way it has alot more punch but the lows arent as good i can almost hear more of my truck rattle than i can of bass and thats while im inside the car.

So i need some advice is there another way to hook up this amp, or do i need to adjust it or what im not sure what to do to bring back the notes. If it matters the new head unit is a JVC KD-AVX77 El Kameleon

well your head unit is not going change this problem. if you want to get rid of the rattle look into getting some sound deadener. second skin is a really good company for that and they are a partner on here. they are also very helpful and knowledgeable in this area. now if you want your "lows" to hit harder, again not so much a head unit issue. what are you box specs? ported or sealed? and whats it tuned to if its ported? thats what will effect that the most.

EDIT: also what are your amp settings? (lpf, subsonic)

  2. 2 15´s without even knowing if he has the space for a proper box???

You are barely starting, but you have to think on the future, it kinds of suck when you get use to your system and want more (maybe a month old for me haha) and you didn´t take precautions about it; i would get some very good and loud speakers, nice small subs and a good amplifier with some nice power for an upgrade :peepwall:

    Something like:

4 Powerbass 4xl 6.5" mids (if they fit on the doors): 160$

4 Cadence CVL tweeters, i had a pair and they sound awesome : 140$

Leave the poweracoustik for the tweeters and buy a nice cheap amp for the mids, i use Almani and that shit it´s great for the price.

    Almani 800.4 : 120$

For the moment, you spent 420$ and you are set with the mids/highs and you have room for upgrade on the future :peepwall:

Then, i would get some Alpine Type R´s , those subs pound hard for the price!! I dunno you available space, but i don´t think it would be too difficult for you to fit 2 12´s on that trunk, i would get a big ass box with a low tuning, so you can change to a top line subs whenever you want and still play nice without changing the box.

    2 Alpine Type R´s 12" DVC 4 ohms: 250$

About the amplifier for the subs, there´s so many nice options that it´s more difficult to give you an opinion, in my case, i LOVE hifonics brutus amps, they are way to cheap for the power they can give you, i would get a bxi2610D for 310$ brand new and you can buy another one on the future and strapp them for an upgrade.

    Bxi2610D : 310$

So far, 980$ and that shit is pounding VERY NICE, a lot of money to build a nice box, wires, RCA´s , even a nice Kinetik or Powermaster battery and maybe a better alternator!!

Or you can just forget about upgrading later and build a monster setup right now,but imo if you are learning about this, i would just build something like i told you on this thread :peepwall:

    very well thought out

    thread/

  3. its gunna be tuff to find anything else that puts out that kind of power for that cheap unless you try and find something used. if you cant afford the crescendo or the AQ i would check out the SMD classifieds. plently of guys are getting rid of nice stuff there. But off the top of my head those 2 amps are the best bang for the buck. anything else that puts out that kind of power will be stupid expensive.

  4. yea i know but right now im fuckin low on money ... girl friend is burnin a hole in my pocket ... cuz we go to the movies and stuff alot but do u know anything els thats cheap that dose 2k? or atleast 1.5k?

if moneys your issue i would definitely go AQ. puts out rated and there really efficient. its worth the money

  5. Heyy guys i have bin hearing about the audio q 2200 im not sure if i should get it or not people say its way over rated or they say its under rated im not sure what to believe all i know is i need to know if its under rated and if it is dose any one know a good amp that will put 2k rms out that's under 400 dollars thanks!

they are not over rated they are very good amps. actually they kick ass. but if you can afford another $100 or so i would go crescendo. i have a 3kwp. thing puts out 3k easy, its a beast. only problem is i believe its on backorder right now.

  6. I put in a yellow top optima battery the other day, wired up 0 gauge with 2 250A fuses to the front battery. The lights in my car still dim when the beat hits, I am going to the big 3 hopefully that solves it... My question is can I add the 0 gauge wire to go only the the back battery instead of the front? Would this solve the dimming problem? My other solution that I thought of was to just get rid of the front and put the optima in the front and run the big 3... would that be better?

what kinda amps are you running? i would do the big 3 in all 0 and run 0 from the front bat to the back, keep both batteries. may i ask why you went with optima? its a little late now but i woulda gone with xs power. alittle more pricey but totaly worth it

  7. Ok, that doesnt help me at all.

I would need to make a bigger port.. its easier to use 4" pvc pipe.

I still need to know what to do about CU.FT. and what to do with the port.. if i need 2 ports for 1 sub in 1 chamber, would i need more ports if i had more subs in that chamber

    Please help,

    Jeremy

if you put 2 subs in one chamber double the size of the box and tune your port based on that, use one port its easier than making 2 identicle ports

  8. heres what i would do

    1. Big three

    2. run 0 guage to the amp instead of 4

    3. second battery in the trunk

    4. replace the battery under the hood

    5. bigger alternator

you proabably won't even need step4 and 5 i just threw them in there for good measure
