  1. I think that'd be kinda tacky Ah, I see youre a low-tuning man yourself ...good choice
  2. Opinions on covering/finishing it? And Im really looking to get another XXX10000 in the future to really make this come to life, but that'll be down the road and I'd want to be getting another 3-4 D3100's and that's just too much $ to be spending right now, im going to save up though...a man can dream
  3. Hey guys, Ive been finalizing a plan on my enclosure for a pair of 18" Omega's that will be an upgrade this spring/summer. It wont be identical to this in every way due to just making rough estimates on everything out at my car and then drawing it up on sketch-up. It will be subs forwards behind the front seats, port up in the rear window. But this will come out to around: 12.308 cubes net 30.25 Hz tuning 202.5 sq inches of port This will be tuned nice and low for daily pretty much but I will be pretty darn active in comps with it, just wanting to have it low, have some fun, not too worried about how it meters...just want it to destroy the lows and beast stuff, which I think is a good possibility Like this: I'll hopefully start a build-log once it begins in about 3 weeks or so I'd predict. And the first 18" Omega will be here this Wednesday
  4. It'll play the lows, yea...but not loud at all if youre tuning up in the low 40's...if you like the lows and you dont compete with this Id stick to 36 and lower honestly..
  5. Thats a nice, slick setup for the port calculator...but when you tell it about the port, is it assuming a slot-port..? Because it could be just a port in the middle of the enclosure rather than up against a wall, which would change things (slightly, but still change things)..
  6. I like to go to RE's calculator to get a general idea of what the tuning will turn out to be and then transfer the enclosure to Google Sketch-Up where I lay it out with double baffles, 45'ed corners, etc. and tweak it to where I want it, just calculating the tuning with math from there. But it isnt horrible inaccurate, no.
  7. Thanks, Peter And thanks, I really like when the carpet comes together and everything looks nice. But I get mine from partsexpress, the unbacked type..it's really good stuff, I'd highly recommend it.
  8. Thanks, and I know I need to make a template that I can use for future builds with everyones square subs And yea, I have a decent amount of clamps
  9. Kerf piece cut.. Mocking it up.. ^not perfectly lined up, but you get the idea..
  10. Hey guys, I havent really posted anything on these forums...so Im going to post up a little work Ive done from time to time...The name's Doug and I design and build plenty of enclosures, shipping all over the country. I compete in db drag and will be upgrading the setup in my sig this summer to something a bit more intense Liking what I see here thus far. Anyways, enjoy.. This build will have a kerfed port, double baffled, and countersunk. Specs come to: 2.857 cubes before driver displacement 33Hz tuning 37 sq inches of port Here's a sketch-up of it: And it begins.. Pieces cut.. Back going on.. Side's turn.. 45 degree insert for the corner at the end of the port..
