I hope I can make it out Ive got the day off but Ive still gotta pick up some stuff and do a full install
Good luck, will it be for the truck?
-
i have some 1" wooden dowells bracing in there. where can i buy resin from? home depot? lowes?
Pretty much anywhere, yea...both those will have it back near the epoxy's, glues, etc.
-
If you have large, unsupported walls a nice thick layer of fiberglassing (with mat) will help out there...but if everything is stout and supported you could do a nice smooth coating on the inside to seal everything up n such
-
Diminishing return applies with pretty much everything...sad but true
-
Id rebuild but for the time being lay some glue and clamp/screw it together...
-
So this was the parkin lot sideshow you were talkin bout the other night..lol..niiiiiice. Bish is rippin heads off. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif

Yea, that looks like it should be a doozy
-
Looks like thatd work

go to export...then 2D model...save it in there...then upload with photobucket

And I just ran some math and a 37" long port that size, while keeping it 8cubes net will get you 29.789Hz tuning...
So if you have the space to maintain 8 cubes net, and can get a 36-37 inch long port than that would get you a 30Hz tuning about
-
Well if you'd like I'll be at my home computer later and can tell you how long the port will have to be and model it up on Sketch-up for you
-
^And that's assuming youre making it longer inside of the enclosure, which would take up airspace as well...if you make it longer outside of the enclosure it wouldnt have to be so long because it wouldnt be taking up airspace the longer it gets
-
I would say a good amount...not just a couple inches, like over a foot or so
-
Yea, it shouldnt change much at all unless youre over 2" off, but even then it wouldnt be a crisis i dont think

35.02787 Hz

"my amp don't have a gain knob, it's got subsonic filter, low pass filter, Bass EQ, Voltage 0 to 14, and some other thing that I don't have the tool for. Also Phase. Even if I did have a gain i wouldn't turn it all the way up cuz my old amp had a gain."
...that's your gain, if im not mistaken

Very nice Specs on enclosure?
-
I'll be there
Who else is comin?...c'mon
-
Yea, I was thinking about paint as well...but idk what would look decent, I dont think I'd want a shiny paint job on it though
-
Yea, I can see where your coming from..I may give it some thought
At first I was worried about spray-anything due to it being installed in the car but Im going to be removing the rear window for the build so it'll be out of the way...I could tape off everything and see what I could do possibly...hmm
-
Well it'd be some support yea...but the outside of this is going to be getting a butt-load of fiberglassing to add support (as well as the inside, it'll be fiberglassed as well). And thanks
-
I think that'd be kinda tacky
Ah, I see youre a low-tuning man yourself ...good choice
-
Opinions on covering/finishing it?
And Im really looking to get another XXX10000 in the future to really make this come to life, but that'll be down the road and I'd want to be getting another 3-4 D3100's and that's just too much $ to be spending right now, im going to save up though...a man can dream

Hey guys,
Ive been finalizing a plan on my enclosure for a pair of 18" Omega's that will be an upgrade this spring/summer. It wont be identical to this in every way due to just making rough estimates on everything out at my car and then drawing it up on sketch-up. It will be subs forwards behind the front seats, port up in the rear window.
But this will come out to around:
12.308 cubes net
30.25 Hz tuning
202.5 sq inches of port
This will be tuned nice and low for daily pretty much but I will be pretty darn active in comps with it, just wanting to have it low, have some fun, not too worried about how it meters...just want it to destroy the lows and beast stuff, which I think is a good possibility
Like this:
I'll hopefully start a build-log once it begins in about 3 weeks or so I'd predict. And the first 18" Omega will be here this Wednesday
