  1. i know people say to use 12-16 per cube, but im sure there must be a big difference from 12-16. so what do you guys recommend for a 6 cube box tuned to 32.5 hz? ground pounder style (not going for numbers, but loud and clean) ive normally done the lower end of the 12-16, but ive been thinking of doing 15 per cube. what do you guys use/suggest?
  2. haha yea, i drove up close for a while, hurt my back and i didnt like it, my new box will be 14.75" depth, so hopefully it will be better haha, also you must have a 3rd door to get 46". i can only get 43" with no 3rd door. it sucks!! plus getting big box's in and out, i have to remove my passenger seat and struggle with them.
  3. i think your ports wrong. if your box is 16" deep (you must not be tall because in mine 15" is max i can go. lol) and if your box is 16" deep, port up, your port would be 14.5" (.75" on each side for the wood) unless your using 1" mdf. but the 18 will do nice in there, dont port sideways, its only good for smaller box's. sub forward, port up!! Edit: sorry just re-read, you are using 1" MDF lol.... carry on hahaha
  4. awesome, my orig. plan was for rockfords, but just wanted to know, sorry op to thread jack a little.
  5. yea i know how it works, just wondering how they could be compared, maybe one being able to get louder then the other, or being more clear? they will be amped.
  6. how would these compare to the new rockford 6.5 power components? i have infinity 6.5 coax right now, but upgrading to comps soon. (sorry to thread jack)
  7. i still listen to your the one, good track
  8. awsome, thanks for that, but actually, that addon already converts straight to mp3, then it bring you to another screen and you can convert to mp3 high quality, so i did that, worked great!! thanks, time to go do songs that ive wanted for a long time now
  9. well im going to do the 4 10's now. at 1ohm on my amp. so its either level 3 with extra spider and sewn leads, or level 4, and there is a big price jump between the two.... but does that box and port area look good for the 4 10s?
  10. i have no idea how to do this? would you be able to send me a copy?
  11. coming from 2 15" nightshades, would the 4 10" level 3's upgraded be able to do the same?? they are close in cone area, the 15's i felt were being chocked a little in the box, so these 10's will be in a more efficient box! the box im thinking of doing is, subs forward, port up on drivers side 4.28 cubes 32.15 hz 65.63 port area my old 15" ns box was: 6.09 cubes 32.55 hz 80 port area
  12. damn, i thought my 3500 was big... i should have held off and waited for the 4500
  13. im thinking now maybe doing 6 level 3 10's without upgrades. would be louder then the 4 10's with upgrades.
  14. i rather have more cone area with the same power.
  15. no i want to stick to 10's and they need to be able to do sealed, as in the future when i buy a new truck they will have to be able to accommodate that.
  16. now i just have to choose level 3's upgraded, or level 4's? the lvl3's would do the job. and can always go sealed, but the specs of the level 4 seem better.
  17. what about the highs? its just a lot to build in a box. and then if i dont like it, then thats a lot of wood wasted, thats all im worried about, thats why i was going to do that simpler desgin tuned higher also the specs of the subs are a little different, dont know if that will change the sound of the box or not... and having a T-Line with lots of power? ive heard T-lines are for low powered systems. HDC3 specs http://www.audioque.com/aq/?page_id=24 DC lvl 4 specs http://www.dcsoundlab.com/specs.html (also thinking of going level 4 now)
  18. oh, box had to be to big for me to drive comfy. so had to sell them. but im thinking the 4 10's ported, that way, i can always go sealed or ported. where the 15's could only be sealed. just wanted to know ppls opinions. also, will the 4 10's ported do a hair trick at all? (with window all the way down)
  19. well im coming from 2 15" sundown nighshades in an ext cab s10. thinking of these choices. 4 level 3 10's ported, or sealed, or 3 level 3 15's sealed. what out of those would be the loudest/cleanest? any of those do a hair trick? powered by a sundown saz 3500D Cone area: Four 10" = 314.16 Three 15" = 530.14 but then its sealed vs ported.
