  1. they do, they are called RE8 i have 4 of them, they are a legit sub, not side mirror shaking but decent bass

thanks i appreciate it ..im thinking about them for a hundred a pair its not that much of a risk...but really thanks for ur help... 8)

  2. i need some good 8 to put in my lowriders

are they solid to use i need good solid low end...im trying to wait for jacob but my builds moving...thanks again... :drinks:

no ones used these??? you tube videos of mirrors shakin doesnt tell me anything??..

  3. Box size has alot to do with mechanical power handling. If you are going to be pushing your woofer beyond it's rated RMS power you need to be very mindful of this fact and put the woofer in no larger than the minimum suggested enclosure for music program.

We design our woofers for very small enclosures and power ratings are there for a reason -- you can continue to push a driver like the SA-8 beyond RMS power and it will not be stressed whatsoever thermally by the time you can cause mechanical issues. The motor, especially on the SA-8, is VERY strong -- being an 8" driver there is limited mechanical throw available. The driver retains high motor force all the way up to the point where you can start breaking it.

In any event... based on my testing so far you can expect something like the following on mechanical power handling vs. ported box size on the SA-8 :

    1.25 cubic feet = 300 watts

    1.00 cubic feet = 400 watts

    0.8 cubic feet = ~450-500 watts

    0.6 cubic feet = ~500-600 watts

You may ALSO need a subsonic filter depending on box tuning. The rated RMS power is 400 watts RMS -- if you push past that you are voiding warranty coverage. We are bringing in re-cone parts and they can be fixed, though, for those of you who like to push things. If you have any doubts about your ability to monitor your listening habits just stick to the 0.60 recommendation.

To re-iterate... they are not fragile. I have ton ALOT of testing on them with enormous amounts of power -- the above considers full bandwidth music program that can drop to very low frequencies and is a safe suggestion.

If you are an SPL competitor then you probably already know this and these suggestions don't really apply for burps @ tuning. We have put in excess of 600% of RMS power on them for SPL burps.

    is the .6 ported????..

  4. I have my big system pulled out of the Jeep pending the next setup... have this little guy in a small vented enclosure and it sounds GREAT. Bridged on the rear channels of a 100.4 for power.

I am really very pleased with it... I am happy with the output of just this one driver on more SQ oriented music. Honestly, I'd be pretty happy even on heavy material with a pair most of the time... VERY happy with it considering the power applied / enclosure size / cost.

how long till u do sale i missed the sa sale but im gettin on this one...

  5. The flooded ones almost always float at a lower voltage than dry cell (assuming you mean gel or AGM) so there's always a small trickle of current running from the dry to the wet. In theory it will run the battery flat after a while.

even w enough alternator if the voltage is at working range not at full discharge what would the push and pull matter.even if u have 2 dry cells they cant be EXACTLY the same ones got to b a little stronger than the other im not bein a smart ass just for the sake of argument thats all

  6. reason being? :)

i run single woofers in any car with a trunk..once the trunk pressure gets to a certain point the tend to fight each other..that would b a good idea why when earlier in topic one did better than 2..theses woofers have serious motors and strong structures..146 in a car is loud for any daily.not to mention u will b loud clean and not have to get to crazy with electrical and so forth..singles all the way...

  7. 2. How about HiFonics?

    3. Will do, I used sketch up and made a good ported prototype, just want verify the physics are optimal.

    4. Sweet! I see you drive a mustang, you must have a the same trunk limits I do lol

i have xl 12 in 1.75 at 35hz on like 900 actual watts and its a beast low hard its a good woofer .if i had more power i could imagine..but get the box close to specs.my first was smaller but when i hit spec it came to life...quality drivers..
