ok well my build that got put on hold is getting started once again i have a questions for all of you
i was looking at putting two level 5 18" at first. but i would like to do 3 level 4xl 15" if i have enought room for the port.
will the level 4xl take to digtal design z1 straped or should i stick with the level 5.

dam it sucks when you are not expecting it
-
yeah i have a second shock sensor on the way. sucks but oh well
-
that the problem i will have to mount tight to the panle to make it fit. That brain is huge compared to the old one without remote start
-
i know in the manual it says not to mount it solid and the last alarm i installed had a remote shock sensor so it was no big deal to mount the brain solid and mount the sensor to some wiring so now the 5901 has the shock sensor in the brain how bad is it going to sensitive
it been a long time since i installed a viper alam

ok thats why i wanted to ask i have seen them around while looking for fuse
-
i thought so that what we call it at work but we got it worked out thanks for all the help guys
-
ok that is what i was thinking was going on thank again for the help have you used those resetable circuit breaker?
if so are they any good or do they wear out over time
-
thank for the help sq monty but i dont think we are on the same page about the wire size
here is what i found sticky Maximum Fuse Size
00 awg 400 amps <-------------this is the wire i have
0 awg 325 amps
1 awg 250 amps
2 awg 200 amps <--------------not this one
4 awg 125 amps
6 awg 80 amps
8 awg 50 amps
10 awg 30 amps
12 awg 20 amps
14 awg 15 amps
16 awg 7.5 amps
These are the recommended maximum fuse ratings for the corresponding wire size
this is were i got the 400amp fuse from but the biggest i can find is 300amp
i hope this make sense i know my spelling suck and makes it hard to explain my self
thanks for your help

ok the wire is 2/0 awg wire
-
ok hold on yes the wire is 2/0
-
the wire i have is 00awg i though it was 2/0 but i might be wrong
ok just looked it up and yes it is 2/0awg wire or 00
not 2awg so would i be correct with using a 300 amp fuse since that is all i can find
-
ok i think i might have found my answer here it goes since i am running 2/0 i should have a 400 amp fuse up front then another 400amp fuse in the rear right before the battery and a 300amp fuse for each amp
since my amps are dual power and ground inputs i should have a 150 amp fuse on each input totaling 300amps right?
so this would be the lay out
alt----[200amp fuse]------battery------[400 amp fuse]------[400ampfuse]--battery---[300amp fuse]--amp
-
anyone? do you need more info? any rule of thumb?
-
300 amps on each amp so 600 + 80 for the kenwood i think
sorry at work dont have the amps here
-
