  1. The reason I want to do a build like this is to free up some room in my trunk. I would use some wasted space ahead of the wheel wells and right up against the back seats.
  2. Here's a crappy Paint version of my idea (nowhere near to scale) EDIT: The grey area would be the enclosure. There would be a partition in the horizontal part of the box to make individual areas. I wanted to go with a sealed box because the shape doesnt affect them.
  3. I just bought two Alpine SWS-1042D's in a sealed box from a friend. I am far from happy with the box design, and would like to build my own box to better fit my trunk space. I do not have trunk measurements at the moment, but I was thinking about a U-shaped enclosure, towards the front of my trunk. The subs would be inverse-mounted at the vertical parts of the "u", with the horizontal part providing any needed volume and maybe a mounting point for the amp. I would probably stick with a sealed box for now; as it is my subs are weak towards the higher range (but only since I have turned them from facing backwards -.-), although, I don't know, maybe some more low-range would be nice. I don't know the current volume; just that it seems tiny and the recommended volume sealed is 1.0 cubes, and ported is 1.2 cubes with a 3" diameter 9" long port. Can anyone throw me a design or input on the feasibility of this? Some basic construction tips would also be helpful. EDIT: changed title to fit topic
  4. Anyone have anything to say about eDead? I heard that it was supposed to be decent, and its only a couple bucks per square foot for the base stuff...I mean, ya get what ya pay for, yea, but for those of us that are broker than a joker...
  5. I didnt see them though, just found the aftermath after school. Wish I had...
  6. Okay, so some boneheads tried to break into my car Friday. They pried at the passenger front window, didn't get it open, but I think they crushed the window track, because the window will only go about halfway down, then spins like it is getting caught on something in the rear. How do i go about changing this? Car is a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix 4-door. And yes, I will be getting an alarm shortly.
  7. Too slow, got stuck parking in the back of the school lot Friday and someone tried to break in. They failed, but now I have a busted window track. You would think after paying $50 for a parking pass that the school would at least let me watch the video from the cameras out there...lousy place told me it wasn't their responsibility =/
  8. Austin, from southeast Wisconsin, found your videos on Youtube and it all went downhill from there. =P
  9. I have a 96 Grand Prix, nothing fancy, has coax's in the factory locations and two type-s 10"s with a tiny amp. I caught someone by my car the other day at my school parking lot with a hood up and tools in hand, and now wish to get an alarm just in case. Problem? I'm darn near broke and my parents (I am only 17) won't help me pay for anything for my car (even an alarm.) I would like an inexpensive alarm system that has shock sensors and (hopefully) will go off if someone breaks a window or whatever. Any suggestions, testimonies, et cetera? I would be installing it myself; any advice on that front?
