  1. Here is a sneak peak of the new VCM (THIS IS JUST AN R&D UNIT). We are taking orders now, and there is a limited number in this first production run. If you want one you better get your orders in quick. Ships first week of December.

The VCM configures stock alternators to battery voltages including 12V, 14V, and 16V. Voltage can be fine tuned to preferences from dash controller.

    Dash-mount controller

    Voltage adjustment 14.5V to 19.5V (0.1 increments)

Backlight digital voltage display (bright/dim modes)

    Keys lock preventing accidental adjustments

    Plugs directly to original harness/alternator

Hmmm... this looks very similar to something we shipped to some guy named Steve Meade today??? :spiteful:

  2. Need some thoughts and opinions on some small xs power batteries or even a midsize battery to use to power my two md3d. Anyone have any ideas? Will be ordering an HO alt soon and trying to get multiple parts of my build done at one time. I need to find something to power these beasts.

Got to make sure these powerhouses have plenty of juice :spiteful:

What's your total amplifier output power? With that info, you can refer to the wattage chart posted below and choose the best configuration for your install.

  3. FAT (front access terminal) batteries are not designed for mobile under hood applications either. They are typically designed for stationary applications and hot high amp discharge, high vibration applications like in a car audio system or for starting.

Batts like this are not necessarily junk, they're just not made for what we do... they're better suited for telecom or computer back up cabinets... all you need to do for confirmation is call the companies and ask...

  4. Enersys makes Odyssey, JCI owns Optima. I beleive Fiamm is a division of JCI as well, but that really has little to do with the individual battery companies under the large umbrella. Both Enersys and Fiamm make pretty good batteries compared to a lot of the other junk floating around (C&D type telecom batts)

  5. In your honest opinion what does everyone think of the nsb90 v.s d2700 and nsb125 v.s d3100 in both daily music and comp.

Well... the NSB90 is 80lbs... and the same size as the D3100, so it is more comparable to the D3100. Many have swapped and gained a few tenths... some stayed the same. The NSB125 is bigger than anything we offer (at the moment) and would likely be slightly stronger than the D3100. If there proves to be a market for an even more powerful battery than the D3100 and it can be built with a reasonable price tag, I'm sure it could be added to our ever expanding offering ;)

  6. Who ScottieJ, pssh he's a nobody lol...

I've always been treated great by Kinetik over the past couple years, plus my buddies shop is a dealer and i get great pricing on them. If I didn't run Kinetik, I'd prolli swap out to sum Northstar NSB-90s or 125s.

I'm not claiming to be anybody... just supporting the users of the forum when they ask questions. Kinetik has always been nice to me too... that doesnt make their product the best.
