  1. Yes, of course... We will elaborate a lot more when we are ready to release the info ;-)
  2. The modules are definitely the safe and easy way to go for customers who do not know how, or care to screw around with building cap banks. Installation is as simple and easy as installing a battery, and little to no risk of injury or damage during installation. We are working as quickly as we can so we can release additional info on the first module.
  3. Ok, so now that the "cap" is out of the bag, I know everybody that is serious about SPL competition has lots of questions. Well, hopefully this helps. Q: Where can I buy these sexy things? A: Loose Supercells are a “direct to consumer” item only, so you will not see them listed on our website, or for sale at any dealer, or online store. Q: Why not? A: Because we said so... Seriously though, ultracaps can be very dangerous in the hands of an inexperienced user. For this reason, loose cells will be sold only to those who are pre-qualified and are already a part of, or willing to be a part of Team XS Power. Along with the standard team agreement, those who wish to purchase cells, will also have to sign a consent waiver to use this product. Q: How much are they? A: The same price as all the other ultracaps, and yes… there will be bulk discounts. We will provide bulk pricing details to those who are qualified. Q: How soon can I buy them? A: We are accepting orders now, however, the first shipments will not be ready for delivery until the end of January, 2015. Q: What makes them any different than any other ultracap out there? A: Nothing. They work equally as well as any other ultracap we’ve tested… they just look way cooler. Q: Why should I buy them instead? A: Because we said so… but in all seriousness, our customers have been asking for us to introduce some new technology, so here it is. And there is plenty more to come! Q: What are the benefits of using them? A: Ultracaps can help reduce the strain on your batteries, helping them last longer. With a properly sized cap bank, you can minimize the effects of voltage loss on your electrical system and improve the overall efficiency of charge/discharge. Q: Can I use only caps and no batteries? A: Yes, but we do not recommend it because there are excellent benefits that both the cap and the battery can offer, so why not take advantage of both and save the most money? After over a year and a half of testing, our recommendation is to use one ultracap bank for every 50Ah of battery capacity for burps, or one ultracap bank for every 100-120Ah for music. Q: What is an ultracap bank? A: If you have to ask this question, you’re probably not qualified to use them. But just to be safe, 6 cells must be used for a 12V bank (16.2V max), and 7 cells must be used for a 16V bank (18.9V max), as each cell is 2.7V each. Q: Do we recommend these instead of batteries? A: No, batteries are still the simplest and most affordable way to get the power you need for most users. However, for those who are serious about competition, ultracaps can help to increase SPL scores in short bursts or short duration. Q: I already have some ultracaps from another company, can I use these in parallel with my other caps too? A: Yes, but as with anything in SPL competition, the more consistency you can build into the system, the better. Q: I’m too scared to work with raw ultracaps, will you offer anything for me in the future? A: Yes, the release of the XS Power SuperCell is mainly to showcase the component parts of our upcoming SuperCell Modules. We have been working on these for nearly a year and a half, and hope to be able to have them ready for official release this summer. The modules will be available through our normal dealer base and will be safe and easy to use for users of any experience level. What do you do next? Well, if you want to buy SuperCells, email us at info (at) xspowerbatteries.com We will do our best to keep up with your requests. If you don't want Supercells, stay tuned for other exciting new products coming along this year!
  4. The starting sequence you've described is very unique and not typical for most vehicles. From what you've described, you will need a battery that can provide an average of nearly 500A for nearly a full minute, and sometimes longer. Unfortunately any "inexpensive" battery is not going to stand up to this much current for everyday starting on a regular basis. A typical vehicle will draw around 800-1000A for a few milliseconds, then average about 250-300A for the duration of the cranking cycle. For most cars, all of this would happen in a 1-3 second period, so using a small battery like a D925 to crank a 900 cubic inch motor isn't too uncommon in the racing world. However, when the current is long and drawn out like you've described, a smaller battery will not have the capacity to continue to crank with the same speed over that amount of time. Your best bet is going to be sticking with a decent size battery that has good capacity, and cranking power. In the XS Power lineup, I would suggest looking at the D3400 at the smallest for the temperature range you've specified. The other key thing to remember is that if this vehicle is left sitting for long periods of time, it will be a good idea to fully charge the battery before storing the vehicle, and you will want to either use a battery maintainer to keep it full, or disconnected from the vehicle after it's been fully charged. This will keep the battery from getting pulled down and ruined by sitting for long periods of time in a low voltage state. I hope you find this info helpful! If you need more help, feel free to call our tech line at 888-4XS-POWER.
  5. This was posted on Monday, while our entire sales and tech staff was at the SEMA show in Las Vegas... essentially, we were closed for all practical purposes. Any emails sent during that time would have received an automated response explaining such, if sent to the correct address. Same goes for anyone calling in last week or the week before. Now that we are back in the office, we are catching up as quickly as possible. This will still receive the same consideration as any other request for business or service, and will be handled in the order it was received. Posting about it on a forum will not give anyone any special consideration, and as mentioned in my original post above, will more than likely tie our hands as to how lenient we can be with our findings. For anyone who has been waiting to speak with us, we apologize for the delay, and greatly appreciate your patience. All phone lines and emails are in full operation now and we are happy to help any way we can!
  6. Derek, We are happy to take a look at your battery. As always, we offer free evaluation on any XS Power product, whether inside the warranty period or not. Although we give high priority to emails, many times we get backed up after big trade shows or events, so anytime you need to reach us, feel free to call our toll free number 888-4XS-POWER. Once we receive your battery, we will evaluate and get you the details of our assessment as quickly as possible. For future reference for all reading, XS Power prides itself in having extremely low rate of returns for all of our batteries, and an even lower actual defect rate. In many occasions, we find that the problem with the battery is related to the usage, or has simply reached the end of it's service life for how it is being used. Many times, we will issue full or partial warranty even when there is no actual manufacturing defect when the situation is handled professionally, and directly with our sales and service team. When the warranty issue is posted on a public forum, we will still offer the same free and fair evaluation, but may not be as likely to offer the same lenience as if handled directly. Just a friendly PSA for those tuned in...
  7. I'm having trouble reading and understanding your posts, but as far as I know Juice Box is out of business. If you have one of their batteries, and want to compare it to ours, we will be happy to sell you one to compare to. If it's not better than your Juice Box, you can return it for a full refund.
  8. Charge them with an AGM compatible charger and let them sit overnight. If the voltage falls back in the 11's, they're toast. Could be from a combination of high engine heat and high charge voltage (relative to battery temp). Heat and excessive charge voltage are the #1 killer of AGM type batteries.
  9. Just a couple of quick notes: XP Series batteries are plenty strong enough for starting your car, but they were not designed to be used as the main power source under your hood. If you're using an XP2000 or larger and the battery is installed away from the engine heat, it is no problem to use it for engine starting as long as the cable is adequate to carry the current. Choosing which XP series battery to use is made fast and easy by referring to the part number. The model number is the wattage recommendation, so for example, if you have a 750W system, you should add the XP750 to your existing charging system. If you have a 2,000W system, choose the XP2000. If you are building a massive ground pounder with 30kW, you need 10 x XP3000's. If you want to add more capacity so it can play for extended periods of time, then add more as needed to create the desired capacity. It never hurts to have more capacity than needed... the more battery power you have, the higher your voltage will stay under load, and the louder your system will play.

  11. Silver, Red, Blue, Yellow, Brown, Tsunami, Stinger, Scoche, all 100% OFC (Oxygen Free Copper). Various Lengths, some pieces up to 4-6 feet, I would guess the avg length to be 2-4'. Equal in weight to almost 3 1/2 full 250' spools... that's over 800' of 8 ga wire. Plenty of pieces with crimp on terminals, and I think I spotted a few plastic 8ga fuse holders in there. Some wire is new or like new, some is old with crud on it (paint, spray deadener, primer, etc). Will take $99 plus the actual cost of shipping for the whole box. Probably worth more twice as much to recycle, but I don't have the time to strip the jacket, and figured it could be of good use to someone... Some of the pieces from the box spread out for a closer look...
  12. If you do not have a local dealer in your area, you can order direct by calling 888-4XS-POWER.
  13. I have heard several reasons why people choose XS Power over all the others. A few I have heard are: Highest available instant discharge power, holds higher voltage under heavy loads, more durable and last longer in extreme conditions, 3 year free replacement warranty, more power for the money, they are used by the worlds loudest and most experienced SPL and SQ competitors, they are specifically designed to be used in audio applications (ie. made to handle high demand current, more vibration resistant, etc.), and they look good in your installation I'm sure there's more...
  14. Give us a call at 888-4XS-POWER and we'll get you in contact with a local authorized dealer.
  15. I would recommend replacing your stock batt with the best fit option and running D3100 in the back near the amps.
  16. Your Jeep will be just fine on 16V. I would recommend upgrading the alt to an Iraggi, DC Power, or XS Power adjustable voltage alt with the D1400 14V battery up front. Set the charge voltage between 16.0-16.8V and you will be good to go as long as all your amps can handle the additional voltage. You will likely notice at least 15% improvement in the performance of your electrical components.
  17. Prolonged charging above 15V will shorten the life of your battery. We recommend for longest life to follow the recommendations in the included paperwork. As Nathan has stated, if your alt charges high at first, it will be ok, as long as over the long term when the battery is heated up the voltage falls back down to normal levels.
  18. We plan to release a new version VCM this month that will be compatible with some Ford applications. Unfortunately, the 6G will not yet be compatible, but I do have a solution for your application. We offer a harness that will plug in to your alt and allow the adjustment you are looking for. It is a less sophisticated piece, and is less expensive. Please contact us, or your local dealer for more info.
  19. Obviously a single D3100 will not play "longer" than 4 cheapo batteries, but we're not here to sell batteries to people who are in contests to play their systems the longest, we are selling to people who want to play their systems the loudest. If you need batteries to play the system all day at a 75-100A load, then buy them from walmart. If you are in the market for batteries to power amperage hungry amplifiers in an average daily driver installation (with the engine running) then you should be looking into XS Power. Especially if you dont want to have to replace batteries every year... Also, the 4 conventional batteries we've mentioned from WalMart will be more likely to experience failure as they are not designed for the harsh mobile audio environment. Thermal runaway would not be a concern from either if charged properly. If you have other questions that can be useful to the XS Power section, feel free to post them... please direct any other comments to our email or PM's so we can keep this post clear.
  20. Hey Tracy! It was great to get to hang out at the booth with you guys! I think this is going to be a busy year!!!
  21. 3 975's will equal 1 D3100... you will want to use the S975 up front, and the D975's in the rear.
  22. Nathan can double check and confirm, but I do not beleive the I-BAR kits will work with the new style D3100's...
