  2. Playing music at 12.7V for a short period of time (less than 5minutes) shouldn't be a problem though, right? I will upgrade my alternator a few months from now, but the electrical I'm going to have now should suffice in the mean time, shouldn't it?

Thanks again. You've been very helpful.

Your voltage will only drop during heavy amperage load periods. If the car is running, then the alternator will quickly bring the voltage back up depending on how far you are exceeding the alternator's output. You will have a great start to your electical system improvements. The alternator should be the final piece to the puzzle!

  3. Update:

Through an email I sent to XS it seems that the S1200 will work best for my application. With that said, I will be purchasing an S1200 for the starting battery and a D1200 for the trunk battery. The S1200 being good for up to 1500watts and the D1200 being a good supplement for up to 3000watts, I figure that should be enough battery power to keep above 13volts.

If I am wrong in this assumption please let me know.

Also, when purchasing the S1200, will I need to purchase anything like post adaptors etc.?

    Thanks again everyone.

Great choice! However, keep in mind that in order to hold your voltage above 13V your alternator will need to be able to provide 100% of the current required by your vehicle/audio system. A fully charged XS Power battery will rest at ~13V, so if your alternator is providing 100A and your car/system is drawing 200A, then that means you are pulling 100A from your battery(s). A 100A load on a pair of 1200's will result in a voltage drop from ~13V to ~12.7V. Hope this info proves helpful!

  4. I have a 2009 Mazda3i 2.0L and was wondering what the best battery for my application would be? I'm thinking a 51 group going off of the dimensions, but I'm not sure.

Also, what would be the best supplement battery to use to successfully power a 2500w system? I'm running the stock 90-100A alt and going to be purchasing a XSP starting battery soon.

    Thanks everyone for the help.

If you want us to look up your application, you can shoot us a quick email to [email protected] and we can look up the fitment of your battery. The D5100 and D1200 would work great to power your 2500W. Dont forget to pick up the 580 post adaptors for your 5100.

  5. thanx ive heard nothing but good things about xs batteries my walmart battery isnt cutting it anymore i also just purchased a 125 amp alt an doing the big 3 im hoping to see a difference i had a bad problem with the amp clipping at high volumes also only had a 60 amp alt an have compressors for my airride and the sub amp an 2 mids an high amps do i have to purchase the i-bar from summit or can i get it directly?

You can buy it direct or through summit, mechman, ***, darvex, etc. Just shoot us an email at [email protected]

    Thanks!

  6. I like my kinetiks and I know some who bought another brand based on a power chart that used to put out there and they ended up needing more batteries or bigger batteries..I do not see the chart out anymore though.

We are building our new site... the wattage chart will be posted back up, and included in our new brochure to be released this month ;)

The guy you "know" may have had other circumstances that caused his situation to fall outside our general recommendations... layout the details of his problems and I'm sure the reason he needed more batteries will be evident.

  7. Im looking to invest in another battery for my trunk so i dont have voltage drop and i was wondering what battery to invest in?? Im running a kicker L7 with a lil less than 1000 watts to it possbily upgrading to 2 alpine type r's so which battery would b good for both those setups?? and post a price if you know it.

For either setup all you will need is a D680:

It can provide supplemental power for 1000W with no problems. You can also grab one of these nice side mount hold downs that will allow you to mount it to the side of a box, under the rear deck, or under a seat.

This will be your most powerful option of all that were mentioned in this thread.

  8. while u typed all that^^ shoulda just answered the question "bud"

they are hell of a nice batteries.. i give em a thumbs up and i know a lot of ppl using them..

I know a lot of people running Jenson, does that make them hella nice too?

Oh, and I do have experience with the 1400 and 1800 and would much rather use the equivelent sized XS Power models. Priced the same with much more power for starting, audio or any other high amp application. Oh, and we stand behind our products for 3 years whereas Kinetik stands behind theirs for one ;)

Anymore questions? Anyone want to move this out of the XS Power section in case I decide to stop being nice? :girl_devil:
