I don't wanna generalize or stereotype, but I'm sick and tired of people that think JL is the end all be all of car audio. Like honestly its good stuff at best but holy shit its not the best damn thing since sliced bread. Now as far as people who know their stuff and still choose JL, thats fine (e.g. robolop). But these douchers that go to their local shop and have 2 12" W0's on a 500/1 in a prefab box that think their the loudest car ever and have no clue about anything of their system really piss me off. I had one kid tell me that his JL's would dominate my BTL just because JL is always louder. I know this is kind of a rant but i just cant stand it anymore.

seen this a few days ago......pure awesomeness

^oh yeah lol. I got the cvr's for free and the behringer pa is part of my dj equipment so i just said fuck it and hooked em up. I also have it hooked up to the sub out of my surround sound for movies and such. But im just learning how to play bass so its not like i need a hartke 4x10 or anything.

Been watching since the beginning. Its amazing how much they've advanced from doing all their installs outside without even a tablesaw to now having a shop that can hold 6 cars or something like that
-
I would suggest against these. I had to buy one once from a local shop and with the the terminal soldered on and the rubber sleeve on the wire you cant get it to snap shut. I was fuckin pissed and took it back and told em that it wasnt big enough for wire that was soldered on and they told me that i shouldnt be soldering terminals on. Go with stinger. You wont have any trouble with em

I have 2 cvr 10's running off a behringer pa amp right now as a bass setup. Pretty ghetto but gets really loud for a campus apartment. btw there each seeing 400 rms.
-
yeah thatll work. Youll need to get a crossover to send the right signals to the right amps but that should work just fine.

cant say i even knew how to use a computer at 7 none the less dip.....but at age 20 i can say im an avid pro at both

I just replaced my 9 year old battery yesterday because of cold weather finally killed it. I just got a cheapo one from Walmart and works fine. She gave a good long life!
Walmart batteries ftw

looks good. personally would have downfired them and still had space for other stuff. Are the chambers equal in size?
-
Check the water in the batteries. Cold weather and low water in batteries isnt the best.

well unfortunately i can not say i came out victorious. Started off good. Had about half of it down in the first 10 mins. Took off the top bun and ate chunks of the burger with the bottom bun. let me tell you the meat was atleast 3-4 inches thick in the middle....(pause). It also included a pound of fries which i left till the end, i ended up eating those when the burger became too much. When the hour was up they weighed it and there was roughly a pound left. My buddy that did it with me is also an o-lineman at ONU (he's 6'6 330 ands plays left guard, im the center) had nothing but half the bottom bun left with 3 mins to go. Let me tell you he wasnt looking so good. I looked over to my gf and said he's gonna spew. No more than 5 seconds later it was all over. It was definitely a blast and well worth the 22 bucks i paid for the meal.
Pics soon to follow. Dont know if theres any vids or not but ill ask around.

oh i got you now. thx

I've dj'ed before but it was on real tables without a computer. And the preamp was going be decided on after i hooked the mixer directly to the amp. If it sounds alright then ill just leave it. Sorry, i cant really understand what you are trying to say about saving money.

Gonna be buying my first dj setup for this summer. I have some things that i picked out and i was wondering what you guys think of it.I know its not top of the line stuff but im hoping to make enough to atleast pay for it over the summer. Looking for something pretty loud and that sounds good. Not going to be doing parites over 100 people.
Speakers- Gemini GSM-3250 I can get 2 of these new for around 300
Amp- Gemini XGA-5000 Get this for around 250
Mixer- Gemini CTRL-SIX 250 anywhere you look
I havent done too much searching for a preamp but im looking in the $100 range. (any suggestions?)
Im on a poor college student budget but i think that for around 1000 this should do pretty well.
Hopefully next year ill be posting links to crown and jbl.
Thanks ya'll

Wig-wag module on the hazards, and the tails have strobes in them with there own control box.

If they are your friends, you should be doing it for pretty damn cheap. Depends on how good of friend. I usually dont install for friends of friends. It depends on the car too. But cases of beer and chipotle are great ways to get paid. I did a full install for a kid and ended up with a magnum of goose lol

those are the cross over points. Think of the low end going up to the small number, the mid playing between those two numbers, then the highs being everything above.

how would i go about getting a recone?
