  1. Plenty of room, the wiring harness will not be a problem just cut the deck around it and as big as possible. My Benz is just like that and I had a lexus with the same thing. Build the box up against the tank and have the woofers fire up ports up.
  2. Nice, how would I figure out the difference for a good daily frequency of 36hz or so.
  3. Forgive me if I'm wrong but if I play it daily around 135-140 would it sound OK? Hell I'll just play songs in the frequency range of the box if I have too! I have another car for SQ
  4. NICE, very specific! Now I just have to find someone with an RTA I can use in Souther California.
  5. Wont be standing up, will be fireing forward. Basically I am removing the rear seatback and the woofer will be there firing forward. I have 2 layer of Dynamat Extreme already installed on the roof and floor and 1 layer in the doors behind the brace (on the sheetmetal itself. I have 10 more sheets and will be doing the entire car and maybe another layer of the dynamat heatshield on the floor too. The roof is solid feels like hitting a brick wall.
  6. Website says 5-10 cubes so maybe the lower end and run 2 subs? Also, should they have seperate boxes or loaded together?
  7. Any programs to figure out how to build the right box for the car? Also didn't understant the "stock car" you mean a car without too much modification?
  8. I have seen on websites that the SPL box is almost always larger that's why I asked, a little confusing. Anyone have an idea of which will be louder? For the record if I run 2 subs I will also run 2 of the same amp.
  9. Yeah the sub and port will be in the cab and the entire box will be in the trunk It will be in a 1985 Olds Cutlass lowrider
  10. OK, having a little trouble deciding what to do here. I don't exactly understand the difference with a regular box and SPL box. I am trying to get the MOST I can get in the space I have. I will be doing a wall of sorts (using the rear seat area and putting the woofer there then adding 2 buckets in front instead of the bench that will be removed. It will be completely sealed from the trunk but I will still see out my rear window) I want to know what will be louder, 2 18" Fi BTL's in a 12 ft total box or 1 with a 10 ft box. What is the difference between a regular large box and an SPL box. Can I get into the 150's with 1 18? How about a :hairtrick: I know it has been done with a 10" but realistically without doing concrete in my floor or something like that. I have not chosen an amp yet and I have room for up to 6 Kinetik 2400's so whatever amp and box design can get me there. I will use it for music about 3 days a week and maybe burp it at local comps a few times a year. What you got!!!!!
  11. I have a few but not much since I just started building her. I have shaved the doors, trunk, chrome trim, emblems and I am now working on the body to get it as straight as possible for paint. Then the Hydros go in (instead of sitting on my garage floor where they have been for months!) Did I mention I'm putting 2 18" Fi BTL's in there too... :hairtrick: Davins Ghetto kicks! The 7998 not sure what I'll be replacing it with Before shaving, first test fit Test fit of the euro clip and Davins Newest photo of fitting the HID kit ballast Newest photo, you can see the HIDs installed and it is after the euro clip was painted That's all I have for now but I have just started taking photos for a build log. As soon as I have enough to get it started I will start 2 of them, one for the Hydros and one for the Slaps!!! Thanks, just sold it to my mechanic a few weeks ago but he still has it. I just saw it yesterday actually and I have to say it is a much nicer car when it's someone elses. Owning a Bentley is like dating a supermodel; she's great to look at, people wish they could be with her but she's nothing but problems when you get her home!
  12. What am I easy bait?!?!? Sheesh!
  13. Yes sir, gonna be metering the Benz at the Van Nuys show so we will see how that will go!
  14. Well the first few pics were from car shows I was in with my club Europrojektz so they are from other sites, just of my car and in much better quality. I do have a ton of misc. pics of the car too when we were selling it like doors and VIN and shit as well as photos with my kids in it but I don't usually post photos with my kids online. We do but not really fixed up yet, I have the Olds Cutlass that was in the reflection on the Benz with 20" davins and all shaved up but I'm repainting it as we speak (literally doing it myself) Yeah I know, like I said I bought it already done and it looked pretty but that was a little weird to me too. Exactly
  15. The wife and I own a real estate company and just opened a construction/property preservation company. I'm from L.A. but the car was built and bought in Boston. Shit ass work too they did on it but I guess they were going for pretty and not loud. Bought it as you see it from a gentleman that told me it was originally a Red Sox car. Not sure if that's true at all but it doesn't really matter anyway!
  16. No I hope I can make it interesting, damn thing seems to shake the entire world around it but I don't think I'm pushing much SPL. First time back in the lanes in over 10 years. I got a huge battery that is factory in the Benz but an alt may be hard. I'm gonna try some of the guys on this site but every time I bring the car in someone gets scared and doesn't want to touch it. It's an 11 year old car for christs sake!! Hope I can get an alt but may not be able to before the show
  17. How funny, can't say I never heard THAT before. Especially when we bought it I was 25! Not that I care if anyone believes it or not but if you take a look at the last photo you can see my Benz as well in my garage. Here's the link to car domain too http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2144475 Photos of the Benz, got those too!! You can see the reflection of a Cutlass on Davins in this one. This is the REAR seat controls 2 Xtant 1000.1s and MTX 9500 12's, I just replaced the amps with a Zapco 4.0 for mids and a Zapco 9.0 for the subs.
  18. Mods feel free to move if this is not the right area. I used to call this my B dazzler cuz every time bitches would see it they'd "B Dazzled"!!!! Didn't pound for shit but it looked pretty though. I will say this it was a dream as a kid so I had to do it but I prefer American muscle or German tuning to be honest now that i had it. Sold her a few months ago after 4 years with her. Enjoy!
  19. I THINK I will be in street class B per what I have read in the rules but I am a little confused about something. From what I can gather the rules say no extra battery in street class B?! I have 1 amp and just 2 woofers but my amp is a Zapco 9.0 and that bitch needs current! I can't even get my deck past 50 (Pioneer max 62) without dropping to 11v. I don't have the big 3 YET but I will for the Van Nuys show but I am afraid even with this i may not get what I need. Help please I really think I need at least 1 more battery for this beast!
  20. This is what I found on thier website Street Max Division Passenger Compartment Restrictions 3-11a Modifications to the passenger compartment from the B-Pillar forward are prohibited. Additional Guidelines: The OEM headliner (or an equivalent replacement) must remain in place for those areas in front of the B-Pillar. The OEM door panels (or an equivalent replacement) must remain in place for those areas in front of the B-Pillar. The OEM carpeting (or an equivalent replacement) must remain in place for those areas in front of the B-Pillar. Sound damping materials may be used to reduce vibration when installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended installation instructions. The maximum total thickness of sound damping material applied at any given location may not exceed 5/32 inch (4mm). The sound damping application may consist of mat-type material, spray-on material, or a combination of the two. A maximum of 2 layers of mat-type material may be used at any given location, even if the total thickness of the sound damping material(s) is less than 5/32 inch (4mm). Expanding foam may be used sparingly in front of the B-Pillar to seal small openings or reduce vibration, but may not be used to fill voids or other large cavities (such as the dashboard or doors). Since its my rear deck and it was replaced by a custom unit that matches the original it should be OK. Also it's behind the B pillar and actually under the c pillar and under all the windows. Without showing it to someone it is almost indistinguishable from stock. Not sure but Im sure the judges will tell me!
