Just bought a couple d3100 amps and was wondering on how to convert batteries to top post mounts. This is how my wiring is now.
-
Its a custom made box that was for the alpine type x's I had but they blew so I bought these and the specs were fine so I just kept the same box. Ill post some pics tomorrow
-
Its sealed off...each sub has its own chamber but its one box
-
Box tuned to 37 hz, I think 2 cubes per sub, 2 ohm, song bme click, in trunk subs firing toward front, 240 amp alternator, duralast gold in front and kinetik 2400 in back, 0 guage, big 3, its a sedan btw too.
-
Just got out of a competition and I only hit a 141.5 with 2 fully loaded fi bl's 12's on 2 alpine pdx 1.1000. Does that sound right because it seems kind of low to me. Btw the result was on music.
-
i know that there are a lot of these posts but i also have another question rather than which brand i should buy.
first off i have a kinetik 2000 and 2400 right now. 2000 is under the hood
was wondering if buying a xs d2700 and d3100 would do me better. 2700 under the hood
also how would the xs do in the cold weather (i.e under 20 degrees)
when i go to the xs website it says to buy these with the 3100 Suggested Accessories: i-BAR, 580 (“short” SAE posts) is this neccesary?
-
what would you guys recommend to set that setting to for like rap and hip hop music
right now its at 80 but i was thinking about turning it down to like 60
subs are fi bl fully loaded

couple questions
how many batts do you have?
what is each batt reading with the car running and with it off?
2 batteries kinetik 2000 in front 2400 in back
car off it reads 12.4, car on 11.9 volts which is why i think its the alternator but it reads 11.9 with system on heat and headlights.
just put in a duralast gold battery and now its at 12.1 with car running
the guys that did all my install said that the kinetiks cant hold a charge in this cold weather and that the duralast i put in is reading what it should be at
-
have u tried to slow charge them over night while they are in the vehicle ?
its hard because the car is parked outside not in a garage in a outlet
-
maybe its the fuse on your power wire. are you looking at voltage of a back battery or a font batt?
front battery
-
Yeah sounds like your alt is fail.
-
ok so my batteries are at 12 volts literally are not being charged by the alternator i think but i called the shop and they said because it is so cold the batteries are not working that well. it is 10 degrees outside. i have kinetik 2000 and a 2400 in the car. they said under 20 degrees the deep cycle batteries suck but when i drive it stays constantly at 12 volts no higher no lower but with no heat or my system on. what do u think they are lying or this is true
-
how much are each because i need one of each 2700 upfront and 3100 in back.
also inputs i am running about 2500 watts do i need all this battery supply i have a 225 high out put alternator with big 3 done.
-
no inputs on this one??
-
is it possible that the RCA's could be the problem of this because i think i am having problems with them right now
-
no on the left side of the trunk the power cable is there and on the right are the rca's
-
no a alpine but if i just deal with it it wont hurt anything right?
-
ok so i have my system on when i pause the music there is a sound coming from my subs. i know this is weird but it sounds like a harley idling but very low you can barely tell its there when the music is low when the music is loud couldnt even tell. also the subs are not moving at all which they shouldnt be because the music is not playing. what do you think is the cause of this?
maybe a loose connection somewhere?
-
alpine 9884 i think im just gonna turn the gain down to 1/2 what do u guys think?
-
how did you tune it. is bassboost on or any other EQ change. even on the headunit
lpf is at 80 subsonic filter at 30 hz gain 3/4 on amp
sub level 7 and bass 0 treble 2 on head unit
-
-
both on 2 ohm and if its fried outputs then is it fixable?
when i had the bl's installed they said the connector output on the amp was bad and just changed it
-
ok when i play my music my voltage never drops below 12 volts (have the big 3 done, HO alternator and 2 batteries (kinetik 2000 and 2400).
just got new subs in (fi bl) and played it lower than i usually do with my alpine type x's.
so basically with the type x's the amp only shut off sometimes (when i play the volume on 25) but voltage would never be below 12 once again. i played the volume on 23 with the bl's and it did it today.
when this happens 2 things either happen the amp shuts off and i restart my head unit and it plays like normal or the fuses blow and i have to replace them.
i have the same amps on the subs (alpine pdx 1.1000) and only one run of 0 gauge going to the back and through a distro block (4 ways 1 amp for each sub, 1 amp for highs, and a battery)
what do you think is the cause of the amp shutting off?
-
Amps: 2 Alpine pdx 1.1000 (1 for each sub)
Alt: 225 amp high output stinger alternator
Batteries: 1 hc 2000 up front 1 hc 2400 in back
Box: dual slot each chamber 2 cubes and tuned to 37 htz
big 3 of course done
Lying battery sideways
in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)

Is it safe to do? it's used as my secondary battery in the trunk. It's a d3100 btw
