ok in this order
4. I've seen more of these blown than a John with hundreds pasted to his prick
Hope you understand
bet you haven't even heard a set.. and if you have what kind of power did the kid have to them?
i had w3011's and they took 1000wrms all day long. They didnt get very low because i had them tuned incredibly high (43.5hz) it was a box built for 10's that i fit 12's into.
Amazingly they sounded really good for a $44 speaker
Compared to my LVL4 they actually had better SQ in the 60hz range, but below 45hz was lacking

what about 4 15 Fi Q's

Really? Cause I've owned and used them both and the Nightshade shits on the level 4. There really isn't a fair comparrison and I'm not sure why they are even mentioned in the same sentence. The level 4 is no where near an spl woofer and is not nearly as loud as a Nightshade off the same amount of power. In a drop in comparrison in my car the Nightshades were .7db louder than a pair of level 4's.
you gained .7db and your now claiming the lvl4 is a POS, the nightshade is an amazing sub, but the lvl4 is no slouch and retails at half what the night shade does. Coming off saying the nightshade shits on the lvl4 and is 2x the sub is kinda funny considering you only gained .7db. especially when the LVL4 cost half as much and will get stupid loud off 1300wrms. Compare a LVL4XL and a LVL5 to a nightshade.
in the end all the subs he listed are great and if money isnt a factor the Nightshade is an amazing sub, as is the LVL4XL and LVL5. I believe a LVL4XL retails for ~400shipped btw, but dont quote me on that

the nightshade isnt 2x the woofer of a DC lvl4
the nightshade might take more power but the DC lvl4 will take 1400wrms all day long
if you plan to upgrade later get a lvl4XL its a BEAST!!

have him buy 1 more 800wrms @2ohm amp
put each sub in its own box and make the boxes identical to each other
800wrms clean shouldnt blow that sub but it is possible, he just needs to be careful with the volume nob
-
lol that will suck....no i dont have one yet, i kinda like to plan what will fit before i buy, like all the other cars i listed above have no prob cuz i can do 4.5 cubes max, but the civic was questionable.
maybe its just me but it seems like you should fit more in there,
my box is 4.3cubes after all dis
36x16x22 and its in a Hyundai accent
-
its funny you mention that because just today i was pulling into Starbucks and some guy in his mid 50's gives me a dirty look and says "are you deaf!" my response "WHAT!!! i cant hear you" he kinda laughed and walked away...

hence, POS.
it better be a hatchback .
4 door
-
yeah pretty hard to believe a 2000 is a POS.
lol too much work maybe it means point of sale?
its a 2000 Hyundai accent
-
sorry no pics yet but box is done and sub is here
4.2 cubes tuned to 35HZ ill get pics up tomorrow
-
no both were on the backseat
you said that the single 15 was in the same size box as you have the 2 15's correct?
How many cubes are you giving each sub?
if the box volume per sub cut in half, the port size would do almost the same to keep the same tuning freq.
You need to post pics of the box and more specs on your system. Box size would be a good start

i thought down fire boxes looked cool... BUT after hearing a couple at the last comp. i say its a waste of money. they sounded like shit!
down firing is used in home audio, with a port firing up or out. The sub is supposed to be down firing onto a solid surface as to load the sound and bounce it off the floor.
In a car it just doesnt work that well IMO, down firing into carpet isnt nearly as efficient and muffles the sound.
Tell him not to buy a bandpass enclosure
that way when he does it will protect the cones as he heap stacks shit

Its a Mono block as in terms of of 1
Mono=1
Stereo=2+
the amp has 2 sets of out puts (2+ and 2-)'s to make wiring DVC
There is only 1 channel though
