  3. i was given information last night that the stock alternator plug needs to be hooked up to something in order for the car to operate correctly. not sure if anyone has this information but currently the stock plug isnt connected to anything.. only connected to the alt is the feild like from the external reuglator and the stock 4ga charge line to the PCM
  4. i got an extra regulator laying around... so ill test it i suppose. thanks.
  5. yes sir... i went out of my way to go the safe route and just do 200 amps since i know the 250-300 amps slip so much... and sometimes the body of the engine compartment needs a little elbow greese loving to fit them in lol
  6. maybe but i dont know... never seen a situation with an alty still running at all.. or above 12v with bad diodes.
  7. its a 200 amp alty... i have the voltage at 14.6-14.8 it jumps around in that area right now... but if i add more batts to the load... the voltage bounces around from 13.8-15.3... eek..
  8. yeah im waiting on a response back... wasnt sure if anyone else has any ideas or expiriences with it.
  9. the car is an 89 CRX dx automatic tranny 1.5 liter since i got the alternator its been acting funny by causing the lights in the and outside the car to constantly flicker... the less the engine revs up the slower the flicker... higher the engine revs up the faster everything flickers... i originally thought that maybe there was some sort of loop in my wiring causing issues but i removed all the after market wiring (except of course the external regulator) and made it bone stock and it is still doing it.... If i connect more batteries the engine revs way down causing the flickering to be more severe... the alternator is making a whistling noise. i have the big 3 done on good grounds... any help? is the alty just muffed?
