If I bought a sub and didn't like the dust cap, can it be removed and replaced by itself or could I simply glue another one over the existing one?

Ive been a diehard Niners fan since I was ankle low to a centipedes toe and eventually wanted to get a piece done. I heard on the radio yesterday that Fat Cat tattoo in Carmichael had a promotion going, $49 for a 49er tatt so I went and checked em out.....didnt want one of their cookie cutter designs (which were tight, but I didnt want what everybody else was getting) so I came up with my own and they hooked it up.

Is that the 3400 motor? If so, this looks to be a pita cause those two rear bolts....my alt is nearly resting against the firewall so it looks like it would be pretty difficult to get to them. Gonna have to take a look at it this weekend....I hope its something I can pull off cause I prefer doing whatever work I can do myself, saves a few bucks and I learn something at the same time.

Sounds pretty easy, maybe I should look for a shop manual cause I have a feeling u guys are simplifying the process.

I think my alt is going out but I have never replaced one ever, just wondering if you guys know of a how to guide for replacing it? If any of you have ever done it on this car, is it a pretty straight forward thing or something better left to the pro's? I am mechanically inclined, just have no experience with this.
