Sorry to revive such an old thread but there's alot of misinfo here so I just wanted to clarify. I have a cda-117 and it recognizes and plays music off my 320gb 2.5" external hd just fine. It will break it up by album/artist/song etc. so long as its tagged right. I am having an issue with file structure go I have to work that out....I just assumed I could simply copy my entire music folder which is organized by artist/album/songs but of the 10k songs I have loaded on it, the deck is only seeing about 250....so I gotta figure out the file structure it likes and make the necessary changes.
My drive is a Toshiba Canvio Basics 3.0, no external power supply needed and my decks powers up the drive just fine. The road I drive to work is kinda rough and I had no issue at all this morning with skipping music. My deck does bank music in blocks of 1000 and that banking takes a while but I can listen to music while thats going on so no worries there. So hopefully I can get my music collection arranged in a way the deck likes this weekend and be good to go.

No, not quite a coin toss, at least not in my opinion. The major faults with the HOX is no removeable battery, no microSD slot and horribly crippled multitasking. Being a heavy user I need to be able to swap batteries when needed. And being stuck with 12gb of useable space just wouldn't cut it. I'm not too concerned with official updates cause I'm a member of XDA so they usually have the latest and greatest before they're available officially. For example, Jelly Bean isn't set for official release for another week or two but guys that have the newest Galaxy Nexus have been running it for a week or two now. Matter of fact, it's booting on the GS3 too, although not fully functional yet.Pretty much just toss a coin they're both great. Pretty much the HTC One X has the better screen and camera, the Samsung has 2GB of ram and expandable memory. HTC also has dedicated that they will be the first to get updates for their phones, so I expect jelly bean to go to the One X first... Samsung has always been the slowest at updates, but they make solid phones.
I did. Got it from Best Buy...they gave it to me for free, long story. But yeah, sick phone. Just rooted it yesterday and installed CWM...haven't flashed a rom yet, nothing available really excites me but CM9 is coming.id go with the s3 -
Sick work Meade....now time to get those mids/highs done up!

Well, I've got a year to enjoy the savings and just might go satellite once this is up.I've had it for two years now I think. Maybe a little more. I'm picky so I won't be to harsh on it. Always had dish network before. He tv works great. Have 5 HD tvs in the house. 3 can watch hd or all can watch standard. Or three can watch hd and two can watch a recording. I'm not a fan of the dvr. Small storage space and no option to hook up a hard drive. The quality itself is ok. It compared to dish I always feel like I'm watching tv on the Internet. Just pixelation here and there that bugs me. Internet I have the 25mbps package. Usually always get around 22download and 3 upload. I added my own Citrix router since I had a lot of problems at first with the Internet just stopping. Have a lot of devices, three iPads, and laptops and iPhones. I know it is a lot demanding on a basic router. Works great after I added an external one. No phone service. Overall it was ok and I've definitely had worse but thinking about going to direct now. The have some good prices going on and a awesome dvr. I'd definitely recommend uverse for a new customer but once the promotions are over the prices are rape like any other provider. Went from 160ish during the contract to over 210 a month when the contract was up.

Well hopefully I have the same experience. Haven't really got much recordings setup yet but we'll see. LoL, the fucking router is huge! But since it's the hub for all the services I guess it's to be expected. At least I get to ditch my other router and Comcasts' big, old fashioned modem...I'd take AT&T's huge, futuristic looking modem/router over this POS I had from Comcast any day!I had U-Verse for about 2 years until I had to move. I never noticed my Internet being slower when any of the 3 TVs were being used.
The only thing that bothered me was using their 2-Wire router.
Comcast
AT&T
That's what got us to switch, they offered cable and internet for $85.....We're paying about $150 w/Comcast for the same thing but with their phone service too. So we added HD programming (way more HD channels than Comcast), the phone service (which I was able to talk them down to $13 a month from $35 a month ) and got HBO and Showtime free for 6 months and are still paying about $40 less than Comcast.I use to place orders for customers thats about it. Were i live is currently not available yet. I hear alot of good things and bad things about their service. I think they have great prices that's when i was working there but that was like 2 years or so.
Yeah, my girl was all sad at first cause she thought we weren't gonna have On-Demand. I'm def a football fan and will pick that up when the season starts for sure. RedZone is the shit!have it, cant complain. LOVE the on demand (usually watch storage wars or the sopranos). OP, if you like football, add the premium tier for like $7 more and youll have the NFL redzone.

Both are flagship phones for their maker and the cream of the crop when it comes to Android phones. If you were going to buy one, which one would you get and why?
SGS3
HTC One X

Oh boy....didn't consider thatI hated it, the thing is when you watch a channel, and record a channel and if it is all in HD your internet speed dies BAD. It is all run off the internet connection and then it also depends on how far you are from the base node. So if you are too far you cant get the 3/1 which is 3hd stream you may only get 1/1 which is watch 1 and record one. It is odd but the dvr is good, also when you get to the guide before changing to that channel it shows a preview of the channel so you dont change while it is on commercial or whatever.

12mb d/l and about 2-3mb u/l....nothing to brag about but plenty fast for me.How are you internet speeds? We've been looking around for new providers after our cable/internet went up $20. 180/month is ridiculous.
-
Anybody got this service? What do you think about it? I just got it today and so far so good. I have the U450 cable package w/HD content, the Max internet package and the Voice unlimited phone package, all for $115 a month. Of course because it's new i'm loving it, I like the UI of the cable way better than Comcast, some things in it are easier to do (like setting series recordings), the internet opens very fast and browsing/download speeds are as fast if not faster than Comcast....the phone, meh, it was only $13 so why not?
If you've had U-Verse, chime in, let me know what you think about the service.

Another banger! This one has that super hard snare drum kick, doubles and more, check it out.

Thanks man. I'm not exactly satisfied with how the video came out, aside from my awesome editing skills ....I think I need to experiment with more HD settings and mic volume levels, etc. My Hawaiian warrior head was jumping around like crazy, the vid didn't capture that too well for some reason.looks like its getting down. nice setup man!!
That's what I said the first time I played this setup, this single 12 gets down! Not bad. -

This thing is gonna be sick...can't wait to see it all done up. I'm starting to think you should help me come up with some ideas for my next setup....Consultation time at SMD HQ?

You say that as if it's the standard. It's not. If it is, you should call Pioneer and then themYes, you need to turn your sub level up halfway. Some decks attenuate the sub preout voltage as you turn down the sub level. Try it again with the sub level up halfway and report back.
half way? since when? headunits output full sub preout voltage at full sub level

Didn't your DD-1 come with a manual? I'm all for helping people but at least read the manual, your question is answered in there. If you don't have it let me know and I'll link you to it so you can d/l it.Ok I'll try it again today at some point. Another question I had, if I want more bass when doing gain setting, which track should I use?
Let me get down off my soapbox now......
If you want the most bass then you'd want to use track 7
This is part of the confusion when dealing with people who aren't up on the verbiage and lingo of car audio. "Gain" is found on your amp, not your deck, so for the sake of clarity please refer to it as such. I'm going to assume when you said sub gain at 8/15, that you meant sub level. So yes, that's how you'd want it. However, I know some decks attenuate the sub preout voltage via the sub level setting so if your DD-1 is connected properly, red to speaker pos terminal and black to amp ground (I've never tried it at the point to where the amp is grounded, always to the ground terminal on the amp itself), and your volume is set appropriately and the right track is playing and you still aren't getting a signal, turn the sub level up all the way and see how that works. Don't worry, some decks are like that, nothing abnormal. So once you get your signal, find the clipping point of your deck then set your gain.Well I turned off my bass and trouble, sub gain at 8 of 15 and put positive probe + to the + output off the amp and I cannot even detect signal of head unit so I did not even get to the gain lol. If I wanted to connect dd-1 to the rca's off deck instead, how do I connect the dd-1 to the rca's? And when finding deck clipping point do I have sub level at 0 or half?
-
Epicenter should be turned halfway up
-
There's no gains on the head unit. No it wouldn't be smarter to do that.
-
Yes, you need to turn your sub level up halfway. Some decks attenuate the sub preout voltage as you turn down the sub level. Try it again with the sub level up halfway and report back.

Nope, no mention of sub level adjustment in there. I know there's some decks where if you have the sub level all the way down the preout voltage will be very low.
The instructions don't specify where the sub level should be set on the head unit. So what I did is set mine to 10/15, knowing I'd never take it up past 5/15. Not sure if thats the best way to do it though so im hoping for some clarification.what sub level issue?
thats easy....set everything on the deck to flat including the bass. I thought that was in the manual. Let me check it out.
**Edit**
Just checked the updated manual and it does make mention of the sub level issue
If you have a bass boost knob or level control
knob, set them to the middle of their range. This
will allow a slight adustment up or down to
preference after the gain is set.
I'm assuming the sub level control on the deck falls under the "level control knob" classification.
Good job guys!

+1 for the Soundstream RUB2500.1d
-
I run fronts only....I left my rear speaker openings uncovered, it allows more bass into the cabin (rears were in the rear deck).

np Meade, thanks for hooking me up.
Its nice not having to guess where your xover/gain/ssf are set anymore.

I used to like the iPhone, but they've slowed dramatically as far as innovation so I don't care for them anymore. But as far as aftermarket support and saturation, they have the game on lock!
