  1. a few years ago, US Amps was working on a multiple amp strapping, i think they got 6 amps to strap together, however, it was extremely unstable. Also, it is illegal in DB Drag to strap that many amps together (i thinks).

If you could afford to buy 4 amps, couldn't you just buy 2 bigger amps and strap those 2 together? instead of buying 4 2000D amps, buy 2 4000D amps.

Keep things simple, less chance for failures.

  2. there is a big difference in using batts that were designed to be fast discharge. Kinetik Batteries are prolly the most used in car audio. I have run them for 4 years now and wouldnt use anything else (maybe powermaster, but xtra $$$). The optima is not a bad battery, but the kinetik is much better. depending on what vehicle you have, i would buy a kinetik that fits under your hood properly, and a 2400 for the trunk, run 0 gauge to connect them. Also look into a high output alternator, i have always used ohio generator, but there are many good brands out there.

  3. i have ran DD subs since 1998, when the 9500 series didnt have a letter after it. Came in only single 2 ohm coil. I have worked with JD a bit on the TSNS woofer, actually built woofers with him at my booth at 2007 db drag finals. I am now currently running DC 4Xl woofers in my van.

Customer service is DC, no comparison/

Quality DD and DC are about equal, engineering, DD wins that one

I can say that from what ni have used, the level 4XL is louder than the 9500 or the TSS, in my set up.

JD is revamping the TSS, so keep an eye out for it.

you cant go wrong with any of these woofers, they art all top shelf. Price, customer service (before and after sale) and looks=DC Audio

  4. its not really a secret anymore that there are many common components used in the amplifier manufacturing. It may use the same casing as a RD amp. Even if it has the same board, its the components on the board that make the difference. There are so many tweaks that can be done in the design, making it behave completely different than any other amp.

DC is not the same as RE. I have quite a bit of experience with both brands. For starters the pole piece, gap geometry, top plate design are all different. If you say they are both triple stact magnets, well, i am sure glad you can count. Coils are a little different. Completely different cones. Similarities, baskets, same style spider, but with different treatments done to them.

Biggest difference=CUSTOMER SERVICE. Even if Rusty copied everything he has from someone else, atleast he will take care of his customers.

  5. well since you want to run 2-15's look into the level 3 or level4 woofers from DC. Not only are they great woofers, but the customer service is top notch.

If you really want to run Fi, look into the Q or maybe even some BL's. Even if its a little more woofer than you want now, yu can always add more power later

  6. there are few amps out there that the manufacturer will rate at .5ohm. However, there are tons of amps that will do it with ease, depending on how much you want to spend. American Bass, Diablo, Sundown, Incriminator, and there are others. You need to supply the amp with a good current supply, so with that power, i hope you have an extra battery or 2 or it will smoke.

why not look for a good 2 ohm amp? it will run cleaner and more efficient and last longer

  7. unless you are doing some hardcore SPL (and looking at your tuning, your not) you wont notice the difference between those frequencies. I have seen weather changes effect frequencies more than that.

i always 45 the woofer side of the enclosure, but like ^^^^said, add some bracing. How much does this woofer displace??
