  1. not saying this is the best for your truck but i heard a dd2512 in a frontier with port firing between the two front seats towards the windshield and it slammed. You just got to play around with it. Im fixing to redo my box because the tuning got thrown way off by the design i came up with. It fit a little tighter than expected, and the port is lets say choked a little. Its all in trial and error. What works in one vehicle may not in another. Just try and have fun with it.

  2. i dunno how much this will help but i just build a box for a single 9512 at 3.05 cu/ft. and 55.5 sq/in of port and its nasty loud for the small amount of power thats on it. Thats right at 18.1 sq/in per cube. Its also tuned around 36hz and it plays really low and gets loud. It plays rock as well which i was surprised to see. I wouldnt hesitate to go to 20 per cu/ft. But i think with that you have the 16-20 range would be awesome. Its hard to believe its just a single back their. Im starting to think it needs a partner back there. Just don't have the room.

  3. Nothing wrong with wanting to try something new to see for yourself cause after all, nobody else can tell you will sound good to you. Well get back to us when you get them fired up and post up a review on them or something.

Ha ha cool man. I don't know so much on a review, because i have never been one to give the best detailed description. But ill definitely post how i feel they perform.

  4. you two are prioritizing two different things, you (price and warranty) and him (build and sound quality), hence the differing opinions. For somebody who hasn't even heard a single note from said speakers you sure are quick to shoot down any opinions that differ from what the SALES REP TOLD YOU.....Not really a good idea to make purchases based on sales reps suggestions alone because after all, they aren't going to suggest any product other than their own, right?

If i didn't say it earlier nobody is wrong here. They are in fact a new line that not many people have ran. SO.. i wanted to try something new and really find out how good they are. I wasn't shooting down any opinions. Speakers can differ a little from car to car. They can also differ from showroom back to the car. So i dunno where he heard them, or what they were in.

I could like the really loud, really hard high end. Where he could like something mellow and crisp. Which is fine by me. I love hearing a smooth, clean sounding system. I just like everything loud, and by that i mean it doesn't have to sound perfect i guess. I know the rep is going to wanna push to sell..sell..sell! My dealer here which I have been personally dealing with for the last 7 years referred them to me. He said that if i was satisfied that he would take care of me. So im not sweating it. Im not trying to start a argument. Just simply stating that i was going to be running them, and if anyone wanted more info, i would be glad to share it. I like hearing opinions though. He may be right. I might end up hating them. But how would i know without finding out the hard way?? Everyone on here is all about trial and error right?

  5. I had a pair on demo from our rep here in Montana and had a chance to pick up the line and really was not impressed. They are the old MB Quart that for sure. I was really hoping that they had moved forward as a company and would bring something new to market but it's really just Quart from the early 90's in a new box with a new name. Their stuff from back then was great but their is better out there right now. I wish them success and I hope they can reinvent them selves.

Well your opinion is just that, a opinion. No offense to you at all. But they had the best warranty and the best deal for the package in my opinion for what i was looking for. I was told personally by the rep they would exceed my expectations. Im sure there is better. Isn't there always? You might like a different sound than someone like me. So as your opinion is well considered for some. Its kinda like someone saying this line is great and some saying they are horrible. Others may think totally different. But hey thanks for the bump. Every opinion is welcomed.

  6. hell yes .....we want pics!

alright we will have to get those to yall then!

i would love pics im all for my country and what not but i have seen some fine pieces of work come from germany

    http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...l%3Den%26sa%3DG

    linky to some picz ;)

says there made by MB Quart btw

They are in fact made from the team of mb quart. That team with the same cast and cnc machines is the new german maestro. These guys are still warrantying mb quarts till this day. The rep, whose name is ray, say that they are better than before with quality that will blow your mind. They are winners in magazines, but haven't been put out there too much. When people catch on they will undoubtedly get big.

MB Quart was originally German made correct?

This is correct! They are still manufacturing in germany. Just a name change basically with some higher quality and design than before. They are new on the scene but sure to surprise many!

  7. this is a 350z i did for a customer with a 2512, running off a m1a@2ohms. he would do a 142@38hz legal. 3cuft is too big for a 9512. 2.5cuft is the perfect size box. it gets nice and low.

    160.jpg

I had a 2512 in a 2.75cu ft box and it did just fine. Actually think that it wouldn't have hated more. It flexed a lot on low end, but when i adjusted the subsonic a little higher it still played low and sounded really good doing it. Now im not saying that yall are wrong by any means. I currently have a kicker comp(came with the car)and built a small box with spare wood for it. Its only .77 cu ft after displacement and it jams with a horrible amp! Port is 17sq inches and it has surprised some people for how loud its got in the tiny box.

  8. So when talking to my local car audio dealer. He informs me about a company called German Maestro. Anyways, after talking to him and the rep, im sold on two sets of components. Being shipped of course. Swap out warranty. No b/s. If anyone is interested in the components or German Maestro in general just pm me. I don't know much about them but i can either find out or point you in the right direction. Anyone interested in pics when i get them in?

  9. What dimensions are you working with? I'll see what I can draw up.

Nice to see a local running DD also.

    THANKS!

    HxWxD

15x36.5x17 I can actually go 19 wide if i need to.

Does anyone know what how much displacement the 9512 is?

Also, i need to know what direction i should fire the sub and port.

  10. WAYYY too much port, much too long as well.

A single 6" aero anywhere from 12-18" will do you very very nicely.

    055.jpg

That's what happens when you bottom out a 9512, by the way :)

That picture looks great! ha ha. I don't understand. Thats less than 12 sq in of port per cubic feet. Why wouldn't an 8 be right? Or should i just finangle a vent in there? A single 6 inch aero is like 8 sq inches shy of being good.

  11. How many have you actually run yourself?

Someone I know was running 2 9512's in 0.9 cubes each, ported. Doing 153dB legal...

They love port area, not big boxes. Big boxes = slam the cone into the spider landing, there's a lot of DDs with smashed neck joints out there...

But yes, in the scheme of things you're not running a lot of power. I would probably do ~2.5 cubes with a 6" aeroport.

Well i actually had a 2512 before this one and it was ran at 800 watts true rms. The box it was in was 2.77 cubic ft. with 30sq inches of port(vented) and it surprised some people, actually seemed like it was just right. I get everything your saying. A bigger box does not always mean it's going to be louder. That is NOT the case by any means. But i was told by people who have had personal experience with them. Actually told me to run them in 3 cubic ft. with 60 sq inches of port. So i was thinking a 3 cubic ft box with a single 8 inch aero 31.5 inches long. But here is the kicker. I can't find the 8inch aero anywhere!

  12. i can help you out pm me some max dimentions but i do charge a small fee for a desgin and a cutsheet

This is where my problem arises. Should i go take a picture and just put arrows showing the dimension. I have a lot of space to work with but everything is going to have to be split up. Either the box will have to split to go under the brace in the back or down into the spare tire area.

  13. 3 cubes is probably a little bit large for a 9512. I run my 9515 in about 3.5 although I have a lot of power on it...

3 cubes is actually just right. I have known people to run 3.5 cubes even 4 cubes with a 9512. They love big boxes. They also sound great in them. I wont be running a whole ton of power. Therefore, i will need a more efficient box with really nice port area. I was going to go somewhere around 3 cubes and 60sq in of port for a vent and around 50sq in for a aero.

  14. Ah, you wanted to know the difference in the physical form? Well, it took a few posts but you got what you needed.

Exactly, and i couldn't find it anywhere! ha ha. But, now that i got it everything else that everyone was saying makes total sense! Thats about right!! HA ha. Thanks again guys. Sorry about the dispute SQMonte. Im sarcastic and a smart ass i don't mean anything by it though.
