  5. Does anyone have the Kenwood kac-9104D amp

    I was just wondering if anyone had this amp and had the actual ratings on it because on the description of it it says

    The KAC-9104D Class D Mono Power amplifier cranks out mega doses of power in a much smaller chassis size (30% smaller than previous models), so it's more adaptable to tight spaces like under seats or in trunks. The KAC-9104D also has a Dual Mono Drive connection that allows you to strap two KAC-9104D amps together to power a single subwoofer—that’s 1800 Watts of power!

    Does that mean this is not an 1800 watt sub or what

    I have used six different kenwood amps just in my car alone (they make great temp amps between big systems). I like to think of Kenwoods as Idiot Proof. To this day is still think Kenwood has the most solid products on the market. I have seen Kenwoods pulled out of systems wired with extensions cords (GF's dad's DIY install), I've seen them ran all day with voltage drop to 9 volt continuous, I have seen them go thermal and ALWAYS come out of protect, and I have seen some ran clipped to high hell with dirty signals for years. They are designed for nubes, through and through. If you kill a kenwood you should not be anywhere near car audio. They may not be the most powerful or accurately rated, or the best sounding. But they are by far the most dependable amps on the market. And that is the truth. No amp company compares to what most kenwood amps have to go though. Oh, and they are cheap as hell for what you get. I think the Kenwood would be a great amp for you until your experienced enough to run a serious amp. My $0.02

    That really got me thinking about the kenwood 1800 watt..Now if I could just sell my old system for a little more money and do they are there 2000 watt kenwoods on amazon and would best buy match that price that way I dont have to go so long without beat :( it will be a sad day

    no...ill say this and keep this in your head. you get what you pay for.

    lanzar is worse than kenwood in build quality IMO.

    $111 for a "400"rms x 4 channel is VERY overrated.

    audioque 1200d is $250. worth the money. you will not find something that outputs that power with that kind of build quality for that cheap.

    I only need 2 channels and preferably off amazon for 200 or less for 2 alpine type r 12s

    Well this is what I have to work with or bestbuy...I don't want to buy online..Ice Truck Works is where I got my subs and they had them for 150 a piece so the prices will be a lot cheaper at the store than online so what is good on this page
