False on so many levels. Under powering a sub generally leads to people throwing a dirty signal at it to get it louder. Clipping/distortion comes in, then game over, but I doubt 1000 watts is even moving a BTL. and that cant hurt a sub???????/

What did your mic read at the show that day in your car? Not at home, Not a few hours away in the garage, but at that show breifly before you went in the lanes?
Im sorry but if you drive to a show and dont test before you go in the lanes and only lost .5 I would be very very happy.
I can tell you this much. Testing at home in a garage last year, and just pulling the car outside would make a .2-.3DB diffrence.
Moving the mic on the dash position even 1/2 an inch can cause a .3-.4 DB increase or drop? How well is your jig designed to place your mic at home?
What version of the term-lab software are you are your buddies running? Did you get the update that has been released in the last 6 months? This could cause an issue?
When is the last time you ran instacal on your mic to verify it is properly calibrated?
Just thought I would give a little food for thought from another fellow judge.
im not accusing anybody of anything this is not a bash doug and his mic's
its just from world finals till now there is something wrong with how it reacts
i dont need doug to post anything if i needed imput i would call him i made this thread to show there MIGHT be a problem and if there is and people agree maybe he might think to go back to xp that might work a new laptop but thats asking a lil to much there they cost big bucks

at ar i talked to 4 differnt people who has trem lab mics
everybody including all of team bassick have noticed dougs mics reading low and acting funny on bass race!!
doug says since everyone has to you use them thats its fair and does not see anything wrong with his set up
it may be fair but i dont think its right to have all these guys buy mics help the sport help wayne then there useless
you get your self dailed in to your mic then go into the lanes everything is ass backwards
from talking to everybody that has the mics and how there are reading it seems the competors mics are insync dougs is not
the only resone im am posting this is i heard alot of moans and growns about how the mics were in the lane
but no one said really anything
so thats it if you think doug needs to redo something fix something post it here
if you think all is well me and the other guys are trippin also post here
this is not a shot at doug ether maybe this will get him to re think his set up is all

Played around at Autorama on a deathmatch against a local sac competitor, was hella fun. Managed an easy 144.9 over 3 minutes.
What would it take to do that again with a 150 in Deathmatch?, it would be crazy huh. Figure you gotta have a wall and some SERIOUS SERIOUS equipment. I know Mike in the Van might be able to do that.

1. he needs power after 30 secs his numbers start to drop
2. 3 mins of how hes pushing those speakers = blown up subs
3. to do it lots a power lots a cone area lots of batts
your car could do it winrows down i just dont think you could hold it for 3 mins without blowing up your subs

its just a earthquake TNT 2000w mono amp. LPF on the amp says 50hz at lowest and 300hz at highest. then next to that there is level and min on one side max on the other. i have it at half way. then the bass boost 0dbmin 10db max i have it at halfway also. there is also a phase switch with 0 on one side and 180 on the other. i have it switched on 0. and a subsonic switch i have it turned off. any help is appreciated its really annoying having bass hit hard then all of a sudden a realy deep note comes and all i can hear is my crappy speakers trying to make bass but no sub pounding.
needs more power! the tnt is not that strong ive installed 2 one entry lvl 12's and it was weak maybe one 12 would be good

I always heard that multiple amps can put a strain on the remote wire off a deck?
heard ive done it to 3 decks runing more than 2 amps can hurt them depends on the deck i only run alpine decks and ive had that problem in the past
but yet joey runs 4 amps no relay off an older alpine deck no problems

if not the remote wire i would move on too the accessory wire, then the ignition wire if it all fails for whatever reason.ya i wanted to do that but at night in an hour not gonna happen this is just to get threw the weekend not a perm fix
hell he was just happy to see his amps turn back on and play
and yes I did it correctly need to go off another 12 volt source didnt want to rip the deck out aleady had a back batt 3 feet from the amps switch was done in 5 mins.
and now loud noise if you turn the amps off frist but i do agree with you relay is the way to go

why would they wire a switch(straight from battery)? that means everytime you shut off car you hear a loud noise and have to shut that switch off...unless there is something you arent telling us?
he burned the remote turn on from his deck it would only read .5 volts put a relay in and the .5 volts was not strong enuff to switch it on so with in the hour i had time to play with it a turn on switch was the only thing quik and easy we could do
