thanx guys. i think it came out really nice 2.
@kicker - its suede, velvet is really hard to find.
theres also a vid here http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...amp;#entry89014

12's that coils read about 11 ohms
-
thank you very much mister bossman
-
So after alot of blood sweat and tears. Here it is, the new simpler louder setup.
-
here it is guys, not a impressive score as such, but considering i wasnt even planning on competing and only finished the setup at the comp. its not too bad.
2 12's sealed, 75rms to each woofer, LIL WAYNE - i got them, sealed up on the dash. If you listen closelly you can hear me playing music.
I was the only guy to play music at the comp and I took a 5th place
-
well dude, put 7000 on em and just be very carefull when dailying and at comps turn it up just a lil. headroom is always nice to have
about the flared port, yes slinky, thats a very good reason, but you can also flare slot ports, look at steves civic
-
But remember what zaxfire said. job security, I am the manager at a place that is verging on bankrupcy, and im sorry that I just jumped in there.
-
the reason its louder is because it is more than likely tuned closer to your cars resonant frequency. I guarantee you that if you have a slot port and an aero port with the same area and exact same smoothness, they will sound identical
-
no probs man, I was joking anyway
-
so lets get on port area a little bit
port area im not too sure on, I think you increase port area to allow air to escape quicker, thats why it larger port areas work better in spl.
-
yes....more friction
-
thats why varying lengths have different tuning frequencies. frequency is basically the speed of the air(in a sense) making the air slower decreases the frequency. How do you make the air travel slower?
-
haha, man, the physics behind a port is real easy. The longer the area air has to travel through, the more friction. More friction causes air to move slower. Slower air equals less "cycles" per second = lower tuning frequency.
the diameter of the port though is a really touchy subject and I'm still trying to figure out how to use that properly in my spl builds
-
thanx, i researched ports and how they work for 2 years, so I can write a pretty indepth article about it. lol
-
Remember, a port is only a "source" of friction for the escaping air. that being said, the only differences is really smoothness of the port and calculation errors. I can go into detail about why I say they are exactly the same

im not paying for shipping
i was making you an offer, I dont need your attitude young man
-
ive got a satnat dual lnb
-
-
this is a pretty old and pretty sweet concept
-
step 1. lay new paving
step 2. buy cars that dont leak oil
haha j/p mang. that pour and restore stuff works great
