  1. the alternator runs but it doesn't charge the battery and when i disconnect the battery while the car is running the alternator shuts off. i've only learned that till my uncle who is a mechanic checked it out. anyways i'll be sending it back to you folks today. thanks a lot matt, i really appreciate your help. oh i forgot about that other pulley. i'll send that along with the alternator
  2. I did all of that. Charged battery overnight. i have two 0 gauge wires running to the alternator and the battery with all the stock wires in. i double checked and made sure everything was plugged in/. My alternator isn't charging my batteries at all. my uncle is a mechanic and he tested it for me. while running the car he, disconnected the battery ( Negative Terminal) and the alt completly went off. he say's that's why my batteries were draining out alternator isn't working. I had to put back my stock denso alternator and now i'm running the big 3 with only one battery. it now charges the battery. tested at 12.8 to 13 (off) and 13.8 to 14.2. will you be able to fix my rhino 250A alternator? it's only been a month since i had the alternator installed in my car. thanks a lot!
  3. the alternator is grounded to the battery with 0guage wire. and there is another 0 guage wire from the battery grounded to the body
  4. took my batteries off the charger and it was tested at 13.5 i put both into the car and warmed it up went driving a little. i then checked later then it was 12.73 then later after about an hour or two i checked again and went down to 12.43. what's wrong with this? there is one wire that isn't grounded from the car wire to the body other than that my mechman rhino alternator are all wired to the batteries. could it be the batteries have a defect or could it be the alternator or could be something to do with the wiring to my sound connection? it's only been a month since i haved both alternator and batteries inside the car. and i noticed that the lights still dim. could you please help me on this. this my big issue that i need to get fix because if it's not able to handle power to my car then i' plan on taking it out. i don't want my car to die out again. maybe i'll try recharging the batteries again? if i charge both batteries from the car do i take out all the other wires besides the wire that connects straigth to back battery or can i ust leave it all in??
  5. i'm still not sure wire i'm not supposed to use? on the instruction paper is on #4) connect 2 new cables(1/0 awg, not supplied) between the alternator posts and the battery posts, connecting the positive cable first and the negative post last. The original cables will not be used and should be covered with electrical tape and/or heat shrink tubing if available to prevent the cables from shorting against each other. what cables do i not use? right now i don't have the negative ground to the body because it can't reach but other than that i got every wire connected to the battery post and to the alternator except that negative ground wire that comes from the car that's supposed to be connected to the body?? i made sure all the wires were bolted down good.
  6. okay i put my batteries back in and they work again.
  7. the first picture with the wire sticking up isn't connected i had put electric tape around it but i took it off so you guys could see it. everywire is connected except that. the reason for asking is because when i had put the alternator in firsst then when i put the batteries in they were tested at 12.5 a couple of days after driving it went up to 13.6 but it was connected the big 3 way. now that it's connnected the way it supposed to be. i'm not sure on the instruction sheet that came with the alternator it says that the orginal cables won't be used in the connection to the battery post??? i had the alternator and the batteries in for a month now and recently had a problem with my car shutting off on me. i had to get my towed home. when i tested the batteries it was at 10.4. i charged my batteries last night and my car started back up. the batteries drained so fast.
  8. how come the picture doesn't come up. I can't see it. is that how it's supposed to be?
  9. just wondering if i have everything connected right? every wire that was connected previously from the stock alternator are all wired up to the rhino250A alternator and to the battery too. on the positive terminal of the battery it has two wires from the car and two 0 gauge wires (1 runs to the alternator & the other runs to the rear battery) on the negative terminal of the battery it has 2 wires from the car (1 of the wires aren't connected which is supposed to be connected the chasis and two 0guage wires (1 runs to the alternator and the other runs to the rear battery). I post a picture up once i figure out how to post it. thanks a lot
  10. i got monster brand cables. it's being split off to one connection at the back of the cd deck. i notice when i move the splitter towards the back of the deck it starts making that lound static humming sound and when i move it away it get's softer. couple of days ago while listening to my sounds and driving at the same time my components went off on me. the subs were still going. i'm not sure i didn't really stoped and looked but i went to smell if anything was burnt and i didn't smell burnt. my car completely died out. so right now i'm charging the batteries. could it be the batteries being so low powered that it suddendly went off? it's wierd cause wouldn't the sub also shut off. unless a fuse burnt out. i try to see after the batteries are charge but does any one know any possiblities that may have shut off the components? i was told from the guy that installed my sound system that something was wrong with my rockfordt800-4 to try to send it back and get it fixed. it doessn't seem like it's the amp because i can't hear that funny sound coming out of the amp. i ust here it in the component speakers. i have two focal component sets (k3p) but only one set it is running. the max power is 400 watts is this amp too powerful? it doesn't seem like it sounds good as i accpected it to be as everyone says it is.
