  1. yeah i did notice that when using the torres calc it pretty much gives you a range determined by box volume. so what is the right way to build it?

Usually, the number that the site gives me is usually within the range in the calc, if the box is too small & port area too big I just use the biggest number in that range....always worked for me...

  2. i'm really thinking about it; mostly cause not many people have it anymore but i'm also considering diamond audio which i have experience with.

Doesn't hurt to try something new(800,900 series look great!lol), but since you've already had experience with DA, then go with what convinces you best..

  3. yeah those are the 100 series i was looking at either the 600, 800 or 900 series depending on how much my marquis takes to get running...I even considered 2 15" 400 series in a sealed box or 2-12" 600 series ported in my truck..the amps come with a remote volt meter and bass knob

Yea, I couldnt complain since they were given to me, but seeing these are pretty much their cheapest subs and how pleased I was with them, I even considered buying some of their 15s, but never got around to it...

I say you give them a try and let us know how they work out for you...

  4. thanks man that thing says i should be at about 39in^2 and im only at 29 so i bet if i build a new box it will sound alot better. what do you think?

I'm sure it will, I've built boxes based off that site's calculations with 45*s in the corners & have been very impressed!...Made 10s beat way harder than i thought they would! :)

  5. i want to know how to choose what frequency to tune your sub woofer enclosure to? Say my sub-woofer's fs =31 hz do i tune the box th 31 hz?

most of the time it depends on what type of music you listen to....you could tune your enclosure below or above the fs depending on what your taste in bass is...

  6. for cars i charge $1000

    midsize suvs $1300

    trucks/suvs $1800

and that includes my buying the paint =) but the prices definitely go up if theyre wanting something extra nice, glossy, or candy. but like you, im in alaska, lol

we pretty much charge the same, the reason why i charge a bit more is because people tend to add things they want me to do to their car while I'm working on it and that way I wouldnt have to up the price anymore....also, i ask for them to provide the paint because it wouldn't be fair if one person wants a basic white and another wants a pearl or candy and charge the same, know what I'm sayin....

like you said about the nice and glossy part, we charged 2k for the '55 chevy on my myspace(in my sig.), but the guy provided ALL materials, all we charged for was labor...

true, location tends to interfere with business!lol
