hey, how about you put in a bass boosted cd and go blow up your stereo. listen for the "clipping" then turn it up some more, then tell all your friends
LMAO! Damn dee, seems everyone's hatin on you cause of your post! That shit was funny though!

Hey all, im a broke BASSHEAD named Diego...found this site by watching the famous "16,000 watt tahoe" vids on youtube 2 years ago!
-
thanx for the help guys!
but i think i just found the perfect amp...!

ok if im following you correctly cut the box area in half make the port for the one box area?
and make two of the ports for the full area correct?
yep yep! correct!
-
what year are the kicker comps?
on the website it says they are 250rms each?
I think you were lookin at the 15" specs...they're 07's(they're the ones in the rumblebee install in my sig.)
-
get the 500 and itll work out good
can i ask why your asking about max power?
because it's for 2 12" kicker comps & total rms is 300, so im worried that the 500.1 would put out too much power for them....in other words, i dont want to get that amp for the guy, install it, & blow the subs...
-
the R500-1 doesn't cost much more
http://www.sonicelec...IME+R500-1.html
i bought one last year when they first came out, for shits and giggles. pretty stout lil amps.
I was looking at that one too, but the rms is 500w, wouldnt that be 1000w max?...like i said, the amp aint for me & the guy doesnt want 2 spend much...
-
Sorry if it sounds like such a "noob" question, but this amp says 250wrms, does that mean it's 500w max?(cause it doesnt say anything bout max. power)
just making sure cause this amp isnt for me & i wanna make sure it'll push 2 12" kicker comps...

haha i want to be different:D
lol! i get you..bt yea, to be more accurate just calculate the dual-port box as if you're doing two individual boxes, then just put the measurements together to make it as one....
-
Why don't you just stick with a properly designed 1 port box? It'll be way less of a hassle calculating...
-
bump.
ok correct me if im wrong.
i have a box H30 W46 D14
my tune is 32hz
ok with torres cal.
PORT
H4.5 W16.5 L16 with this i get port area of 74.25.
now if i do another port the same size will i get 148.5 port area right???
and have a tune of ~32hz?
thanks
_CHRIS
that's right, but you would still have to calculate the second port's displacement...
-
SI BM mkIII's have way more xmax than 13tw5s..
more xmax=more bass!
-
Is there any builds with shallow mounts putting up good numbers
-
Stereo Integrity BM mkIII! $220, 450 watts
-
Very clean, love the countersunk terminals!
-
bump again. sorry/
i didnt want to make a new thread so ill post my qestion here.
ok here it is.
i have a port that is W 4.5" H 32.5" L 20" with this i have a tune of 34.4hz
box is H30 W46 D14
Question
- can i do half of each height nd width nd length and with that make two slot ports and have the same tune or will it be different?
example
Height 32.5" = 16.25"
width 4.5" = 2.25
length 20" = 10"
thanks
-CHRIS
You would have to calculate that as if it were 2 separate boxes...
-
Sorry for the multi-post, internet's actin funny.. :/

-
No problem!
Looks like it'll work just fine, good luck on your build!
-
sound good.
yea i understand.
now all that done with i think the sub gonna run into the port since it gonna be L.
but im going to add another baffle over it so it should space it out more.
To get the best sound & avoid mounting depth problems, locate the sub as far away away from the port opening...otherwise, like you said, just add a spacer...
-
so if i go bigger then 146.25 im ok right?
yeah im kind of confused abt the negative...anyone else can help with this?
ok i change the length number to 27in cames out the 34.85hz
thanks.
-CHRIS
yea, you'd be ok, as long as it's tuned @34hz....
at the bottom of the carstereo page , you could calculate port length...
34.85hz seems ok, although it's leaning more towards 35hz, especially if you're gonna brace the box & add corner fills...
-
first jst wanna say big thanks to the people who are helping me out!!!
got some qestions.
what in blue. tune i want 34hz but torres cal. say 36hz?
what is in red. very close to port size cal. (146.03) nd torres cal. is (146.25) with this number it is tune to 34hz correct?
one more question i see a ( - negitive number) could this mean bad??? what circle in yellow.
thanks so much!!!
-Chris
ps i change the height of box so the port can clear the top part of the sits.
make your port longer til it hits 34hz or make your port area bigger for 36hz...
146.25 is ok, 146.03 is just your minimum @34hz...
not sure what the negative number could mean...???
just keep playing with it, til it all falls into place...
Look what I got for five dollars today.
