  1. I don't have a orbital buffer, but could I just sand lightly with 2000g after I wash it, then wash again?.

And could I polish the entire car to get it to shine? With some polish an a hand pad thing lol?

Once you wetsand, you have to buff or the clearcoat won't shine...

All I could say is have fun buffing by hand!haha!

No, but seriously you'd be better off taking it to a pro and get it done right and not mess the paint up...

  2. Ok thanks man! I went ahead and tweaked the port dimensions a little bit and got something within range...hopefully this is a little better. I know knowthing about ported enclosures.

    NEWBOXDIMENSIONS.jpg

With new Port area, only difference is I don't have the port facing up.

If someone who is good with sketchup would be willing to make an image, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

No problem....the port area is good there, but now your "net" volume seems too small for two 15's...play with it a little bit more, maybe with minimum port area in the range will give you enough volume for the two subs..

  3. I built a 4.3 cubic feet burp box and 2 8" ports for a single DD 3518, i changed to a single 8" port just to play it with music and it actually sounded very nice, but needed more port!!

That's why I wanted opinions on either 15's or 18's cause I'm afraid that the two 18's wouldn't sound good being squeezed in a smaller than recommended box...

  4. Yep, that calc makes it so much easier! I'm going to bed cuz I have to work in the morning. Should I be expecting a build log?

It does!...Honsetly, not for a while, I don't wanna get started on the build until i have EVERYTHING, which, of course is gonna take me a lil while(mainly getting the funds, and waiting on product shipping)...

Thanks for the help(all you guys that posted)...I'm gonna order things little by little as soon as I can! :)

  5. ooopss my bad, didn´t read to well the first post hehe, 2 15´s hommie, more than enough space to build a proper box!!

    haha, it's koo, that's why i posted up either squeezing 2 18's or 2 15's in a properly built kerf port box... sooo, 2 15's, 7000+w it is!lol!

  6. Yeap, 2 15´s should work fine, also 4 12´s fit easy with that space, 2 18´s would require big power but i can work, mike singer had around 4.5 c/f if i remember correctly for his TC Sounds on the Eclipse and that thing killed the 149.9 class, but, with a good amount of power!!

4 12's would work if the box isn't sealed from the trunk, width is 42" - port width...

  7. You should run 4k just for that reason..lol. Shut them up!!

Also, WTF is a "Z" edition? Is it made by LanZar..haha

Just like you said, great minds think alike!lol!

lol! idk, i guess its their own shop line or something here's their product line-up: http://advancedstereo.com/ -just look for "z series on their products

tbh, the subs he's running look pretty decent, but they didn't convince me at all...

  8. What equipment does he have/numbers does he do? I'm willing to bet you can get louder with two 12's

#-idk, he don't meter his rides, or set gains with dmm or o-scope(he owns a shop), then again no shop I've been to in Riverside do....

his equipment consists of 4 "z" edition 12s from advanced car stereo amp is also a "z" edition 3200w mono...box, i would believe would be tuned to 40+hz cause i heard it and didnt hit lows very well...

  9. Yeah, theyre pretty funny :) Great minds think alike..can't go wrong with sundown

from what I've heard and seen, seems hard to disagree, lately I've been considering running 3 sa-8's in my ride, but I really want to move air and run 4000+rms just to blow away the people I hear talking about how "kicker and jl are so great"!

  10. lol, naw, it's after displacements...

I just wanna make sure the 2 15s will b louder than my friend's expedition and show him what underground brands are about, when I mention FI,DD,DC,SUNDOWN,etc.., he looks at me like I'm crazy and tries to sell me some kickers or some off-brand "Z" series like the ones in his truck...!

  11. Maybe 2 12s? I would do level 4 xls or 5s depending on the power. It'll give them about 2.5 cubes after displacements.

I want bigger subs than 12s for once....I'm actually really leaning towards lvl5 15s(I have plenty of room for 2)...

But I really want to get 2 18s(but not sure if they would sound good in 9cu.ft.) to be louder than my friend's 4 12s and because I personally don't know anyone that has 18s..

  12. I would run 15's if I were you

sundown nightshades like small boxes though

I was thinking about it, but it's cause I want to be louder than my friend's expedition with 4 12's on 3200w!:ehh:

I was trying to look up the nightshades on sundown's website, but it just said "coming soon", thanks for the suggestion...

  13. Wassup forum...I currently own a '94 Mazda 626 and I want to do a build sealed from the trunk, and after displacements I'm left with 9cu.ft. net.....so I was wondering what other 18's besides the SMD's would work just fine in under 5cu.ft..?

...or should I just stick with 15's?

  14. Hey guys...I just ordered 3 yards of this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suede-Headliner-Charcoal-60-Wide-yard-/320568425605?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories#ht_506wt_939

I need to find out the best adhesive to use, I also heard that you're supposed to spray the headliner and the material and let the adhesive dry, then you put them together? Shoot me some advice before i waste the 65$ worth of suede LOL. :santa:

For lighter fabrics like that, spray adhesive would work just fine, spray both objects, let it sit for a few minutes(don't let it dry all the way, just to the point where it's really tacky) then put it together...did that on an old corsica we had before we sold it, and it came out great, looked brand new and held on just fine!

    Good luck!
