  1. That´s a nice page, also, youn can use Torres Calculator, it´s proven to work awesome!

Well usually the numbers i get off that page according to the sub's xmax and box tuning, i input those numbers in torres' calc. :good:

As a matter of fact, I built an enclosure for a 12" off those two programs today! :woot:

  2. Well, depends on some factors, i would say the most important and crucials would be box size and power!! There´s a simple rule that says 12-16 SQ of port per cubic feet for slot ports and 8-12 SQ of port per cubic feet for aeroports because they are more efficient, that "rule" isn´t real at all, but gives you a starting point!!

There´s a couple of guys here that says port area doesn´t affect output, score on the meter and stuff like that, i don´t debate with them because they feel like they know everything, but for example, you can try a box for a 10" sub 1.5 cubic feet after displacement, single 4" port and then change it to a 6" and you´ll see the score changes!!

I haven´t work with that sub, but i love how 10´s pound on boxes between 1.5-1.75 cubic feet after displacement, and 22 -24SQ of port :)

    X2!!!!B)

I usually use this to figure out port area: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31

  3. Im going to be in the market for a good 600-800rms sub and have found a few to consider. Im looking at the sundown SA- 12's, DC Audio level 3 12's, Fi SSD 12's, Ascendant Audio Chao's and a few others. Would there be any real difference in choosing a sub that has a 3" coil versus a 2" or 2.5"?

Amp is going to be most likely a sundown 1200 v2 or 1500d. Also what woofer would you like to see me use on these particular amps and why? Trying to stay within the 200 dollar mark per sub and i need two. Im personally leaning towards the SA's because all my amps will be sundown and all would "match".

So what's the difference between vc sizes?

  4. Honestly the Tesla Roadster is the same thing, but it gets between 200-250 miles per charge, and if I recall it charges much more quickly than this car, but the price tag is rather high up there. The real downside, no sound system! but to be honest, if we could add an alternator to the rear wheels on separate miniature automatic transmissions then we could get some voltage back while only losing a few horsepower. I am not too sure on how well this would work though, it could either be very efficient of a huge inefficient failure.

Think about all that extra weight it would have 2 carry(batteries, box, subs, wire, amps).... =@

  5. Well..still ugly. But from the looks of it in the video, I'd buy one of these before I'd buy a fucking prius.

But.. are you saving the world? No, no you're not. What about those polar bear cubs that.. cry.. because you used $7 in gas?

Never mind, it's okay. You wouldn't make a "difference" even if you did have a fucking prius...and the fucking polar bears would laugh at you :P it turns out that they weren't crying because of your gas usage, they were actually crying because daddy came home drunk with another polar bear and mommy and daddy got into a big fight.

About the alternator or whatever, why couldn't they just hook up a generator to the wheels so that whenever the vehicle moves at all it's creating power? As been said.. you wouldn't have to use electric then, and that wouldn't go over very well. But whenever tons and tons of people get electric vehicles, more electric will obviously be used..where does that electric come from? Fossil fuels? Right.. isn't that the reason we "want" the electric vehicles? I don't know exactly what they burn to get electric (is it just coal? or all fossil fuels.. I dunno) but if nobody is using oil, they will start burning it.. to make electric. So here we have all these fucking retards driving around their ugly electric vehicles, and we are still using oil and such...and of course the price of electric will go up, you know that.

To the guy that said you'll be able to charge the car like anywhere, parking lots, etc., uh..no. I sure as hell hope not. What, is there going to be some other kind of shit that I have to watch out for while pulling into a parking space?? Even if this were to happen, who is going to pay for this "upgrade" to the parking lots?

  6. You can use window cleaner like windex on the chrome to clean the bugs off, then hit it with a good car wax. Let it haze, and polish it off. If they get a lil surface rust on the later on down the road, don't be afraid of the coke technique, it works good on surface rust. For cleaning, Windex, and then wax. Damn good shine. If not get some chrome polish..

I usually clean my chrome bumpers with nxt tech wax 2.0, removes water stains, bugs, and keeps them protected...

  7. yeah i did notice that when using the torres calc it pretty much gives you a range determined by box volume. so what is the right way to build it?

I usually stick with the site's number for port area cause that way I'll know what port area I need according to tuning freq & sub xmax...in the calc's port area range you hav either smallest or biggest port area...
