Mitsubishi Montero Sport Team Sundown Russia by Drugban

out of those i agree the aq
but i would look at sundown
-
HolyAirTimeBatman!!
Wow, that is pretty amazing for two 12's
low 30s FTMFW!!
-
I went with Mechman for my dodge - really happy with it...just got a second one for a teammate - quick shipping even when international, gotta love that
-
dude i wouldn't go with fi btl's just because everyone has a btl and it gets old try getting something like ascendant audio mayhems so you can be different for once
EDIT: i would go with this as a setup if you wanna get 4 18's
4 18 Ascendant Audio Mayhems
4 Audiopipe AP-3000 ebay link for ap3000
2 300 amp alternators
Big 3 in dual 1/0 gauge (if you've done it already then nevermind)
Yellowtop Optima Battery under the hood
Kinetik HC 3800 in the back
and that should be a loud ass setup
while i would agree that there are a number of great subs out there to choose from including the AA's (Sundown Nightshade v.2's would me my first choice though), if the guy wants to run the BTL's - let him make that decision.... i mean, the fact that alot of people already chose Fi doesn't mean that the BTL's are suddenly a bad choice... suggest something else, yeah, but not "just to be different" ya know?
now on the amp suggestion - while the AP's might be decent budget amps ( I have a client running a pair on some Sundown z10 v.2's) they are in no way an alternative to the likes of a SAZ4500.. or a Cresendo 3k for that matter.... there's more to an amp than the wattage it puts out

I was just going through some random photos that were sent to me from a comp that we held about a month ago....and came across this
it maybe a little hard to see, but i can assure you - if you see a bottle like that, there's vodka inside
...which might explain why we had quite a number of peeps wasted at the show....and why this particular fellow, being a die-hard SQ competitor decided to pull up to the SPL lanes and blow the fcuk out of his 8" morel front
lmao ...just felt like sharing that...ima see if I can find a closer shot of that

This will most likely be a huge embed-fail, since it's not youtube and I hve no idea how to embed it LOL ....so just follow the link above...new vid there -
OK ..SO I JUST GOT MY SUNDOWN SA8 DUAL 4 OHM IN THE MAIL...LETS JUST SAY IT BUMPS IN MY OLD BOX BUILT FOR A KICKER L5 10 INCH... MADE IT FIT LOL. OK NOW I ORDERED THE SUB AS I WANT IT FOR MIDBASS BECAUSE MY COMPONENTS AINT CUTTIN IT AND MY 18 REALLY DOESN'T LIKE TO PLAY HIGH NOTES VERY WELL. WHAT TYPE OF BOX SHOULD I PUT IT IN AND ALSO WHERE SHOULD I PUT IT.. i HAVE A 96 YUKON 4DOOR. IT WILL BE ON A PLANET AUDIO 350.2 BRIDGED AT 2 OHMS SO 350 WATTS TO THE LITTLE 8. ALSO MY SUB IS CROSSED OVER AT 100 HZ IF THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
so you want to run a single SA8 upfront and have it playing up into the midbass region, did i get that right?
Here's what my team id doing in the Explorer that they are working on
That's a sealed box obviously and inside it's much smaller than it looks as it's glassed over expanding foam leaving just enough room for the magent and a couple inches behind it for ventilation
I'd try crossing it over at 250-300 pending where it comfortably meets your current frontstage. the 18 you have - i would lower the LPF to 63 or even 55

another vid here http://www.rian.ru/p.../258054821.html
I'm searching the media sources for coverage of this event to see if there's a better shot

I'll send you some free if you can get Putin to put some on his trike
LOL somebody will have to donate a trike, I'm pretty certain he doesn't have one yet and jacked the one he's riding there
-
Yes, Vladimir Putin, the current Prime Minister and previously The President of Russia for two consecutive terms was at a bike run and was THIS close to rocking Sundown Audio
Putin is wheeling the leading trike alongside of him is Surgeon a notorious Russian biker and leader of the Night Wolves.... right behind them is a huge trike rocking two Sundown SA-10's ...I know it's a little hard to see in the vid ( look closely at the vid from 0:18 to 0:21 ) and the media pics but them is Sundowns for sure and they got em here
Sundown FTW!!!

what's the length of the port?
-
what Jake said...SA8 needs around 0.3cf or less for a sealed application
-
humm ill have to check my depth from the top of my box to the rear deck.. i may be adding another SA series woofer to my car after all.... I wonder how much power it would need to sound good?
Humm you know Jacob... i could really use that SAE100.4 prototype still... You should send it to me!
my guys ran them full range in a free air application - does suprisingly well for a sub and doesn't need much power at all (I mean like 100watts will do).... we also had a guy that ran them sealed as front mounted woofers (crossed over at 300hz if I remember correctly) in a 3way - he ran into a problem of not having enough power - he had one of the old PPI amps which did really well when bridged to a single SA8, but would run out of steam when he hooked up with an SA8 on each channel..... now, we are waiting for that SAX200.4 to try that one again
-
theres a guy on here named misk who does some very nice stuff. hit him up
Thanks n8!

It's more about importing it to Australia, I've been trying to get someone to do it for a year almost. You have no idea how much trouble I have been through trying to get one imported to Australia. No one wants to even consider it.. a lot of us aussie guys have the same issue.
contact Mechman - they have no problems with overseas shipping, always respond in a timely fashion and can hook you up with an alt for just about any application
-
hey guys, I needz a design of a logo for www.groundpounder.ru (guess what that site is going to be about LOL )
not really sure what i want, so share some ideas...you can pm me or post here. As I believe in that all professional work should be paid work, i have my paypal ready and we can discuss pricing.
Also looking for some animated gifs and what not of a related nature as well as a design that can be adapted to car decals and t-shirts
-
SA12 all the way
-
air space might be an issue with 2
I'd think it would work with SA8's that don't actually require any airspace more than needed to fit the motor, they are quite beefy in that department though so dimensionwise it might be tight unless they would be somehow staggered....Tahoes have a wider transmission tunnel compared to the explorer, so it should be possible
-
vid of the 153.8 - sealed on the TL - New National record!!! (for Russia)
-
Not a Tahoe, but here's a pretty good example fitting a Sundown SA8 in a ford Explorer
-
can i ask what your reason for using the blue top battery.
the extra set of threaded terminals
