  1. If you want n8 I can make you admin, the only mods it has are admin, thats it. Nothing custom. I have played GG in the past, but I like the regular CSS, as I've played competitivly for a while. I did make it to MAIN in CAL for a bit, but then it died.

The only thing not stock is startmoney, its about 4500, just enough to buy everything but the awp.

Server location in NY, so east coasters will probably have better ping.

  2. does it make me a bad person if im rooting for him ? i just have this thing where i have to root for the under dog.

you have this thing about rooting for muderer's? i would say it does make you a bad person. Kind of a real shit head.
I'm not rooting for him, but they've already lit up two cars trying to kill him without warning . What are they trying to hide?
please don't tell me you are one of THOSE people. OMG...

My dad was an undercover federal officer for 15 years, I'd be the first one to put one in his dome, but this really just seems . . . off. Even my dad said so.

  4. Nvidia is using their Tegra line to power the computer systems in new BMW's. Should be able to do new 3d mapping for navigation pretty well

    Heres an article about it

Here's video on the older NAV system, should be upgraded with the new Tegra 4 thats coming out.

  5. It'll work fine. I'm sure if he took the heatsink off, it'll be evenly distributed.

it will be. I always do it like that and i have never had a problem.

I was going to mention something about the thermal paste too, which is something I didnt know until about 2 years ago. It will drop temps by like 15 degrees just doing a dot instead of smearing beforehand.

15 degree's? doubtful. If that was the case, all the PC's i have built would run hot and they don't, they all run nice and cool. Especially on water. Maybe someone somewhere had a problem, but i won't. Ill take notes for next time though.

It may make more difference on air, Thats all I've run until recently. I switched to ceramique thermal paste and wasnt seeing the drops I was expecting (it was still lower and well within range even overclocked after cure time). I read about the pea sized dot, cleaned it off and tried it and I got about 12 degrees under full load in Prime95. Some people where reporting up to 15.

  6. It wouldn't really matter whether you bought EVGA or ASUS cards for the GTX 690. All the vendors have the exact same design for the GTX 690 (Nvidia's reference). It just comes down to whose support team you have to talk to if a card dies. You don't even get any extended warranties or anything included.

i like the evga graphics cards since some come with lifetime warranty. cant wait to see this build.

EVGA stopped offering lifetime warranties in the summer of 2011. You now get a 3-year warranty with the option to purchase an additional 2 or 7 years (making it a 5- or 10-year warranty). The extended warranty purchase must be made within the first 30 days after purchasing the card.

Yeah, it really sucked when they started doing that. When I bought my 9800 GTX thats why I got it, cause short of lighting it on fire, it was covered. Even overclocking.

  7. He did thank the person that helped him figure it out, I'm sure he would have on his own anyway. Thats kinda what we do here, figure shit out :)

You didn't put it like that at first, and my feelings are uninjured. Keep up the great work man.

Also, i got this....i don't need 20 people telling me what to get, or what i should get. I know what i am doing, even if you do too. Thanks!

i thought i was being nice. I didn't say "you don't know what you are talking about, leave me alone". I am saying, "even if you are good, i still got this!"

I build a gaming PC about once a year and as most know, if you don't stay on top of things, technology will pass you by. Hence the reason i didn't know i couldn't do 3 of THESE cards in SLI. I have more experience with SLI configured machines then 95% of the people here but i still get rusty. If i need the advice, i will ask for it though.

oh, and im not mad at you, i just can't believe when i am being nice, someone still finds a way to call me arrogant. Its all good bro :D

Ehhhh, I kinda have a problem with this.

You've been able to quad sli since the 9800 gtx, (that's when I got into BUILDING computers, could go further back, but I don't care) which was at least in 2007.

There's only like 5-6 people on this site that actually know computer hardware, maxim, and beaker to name a few.

The problem I have is that you said you don't need help, you know what your doing, and try and jam 6 gpus into a computer.

That's like trying to fit a 8" sub into a 18" hole. Not even close. Sure you can screw it down, but it's potential will be greatly impacted (PhysX configuration)

I usually don't comment or post on anything computer related because it's frustrating to help people that refuse help, or "know what they're doing".

Im not trying to argue, I'm just voicing my opinion. I'm slightly frustrated.

Quad Msi twin frozr III 680s woulda worked better IMO as well. Put those stock 690s in the dirt easily.

  8. Borderlands 2 lags a bit on my machine, I'm still running an older 1366 i7 though. Hell if I had 6k to throw into a machine I'd do the same. Also I'm not sure if Windows 8 automaticly enables TRIM, I know most of the drivers do, but to keep those samsungs running at top speed its a good thing to check. Unless you're doing 2 of them in RAID 0, which I know on Windows 7 TRIM isnt supported on SSD raid arrays, not sure about 8.

I think you'll like 8, it has some sweet multi monitor features. If you really want to go all out, there are a few companies starting to make 27 inch multitouch screens for use with Windows 8. I cant find any that are running the resolutions you're running though, so that might put them off the table.

  9. You can always use the 3rd card for PhysX

IF your talking about having a 3rd GFx card, last I remember, PhysX, is processing power, not GPU since it deals with strictly calculations. ANd it still already has been stated that 3 690's in SLI can not be done. Also, SLI and Crossfire is almost pointless in most applications because you dont even gain a 40% increase perfomance from one chip, to two.

PhysX is Nvidia software thats used in things like borderlands and a few other games to strictly do physics calculations for world interactions. The card does not have to be in SLI to designate it in the driver as a PhysX proccessing card. I use a 460 as a dedicated physics card in my machine along with a 470 GTX.
