  1. I need help finding a cheap desktop.

It will primarily be used for Xbox Live (Xbox plugged into Computer via Ethernet cable)

When not used for XBL, it will be plugged into a 32" HDTV, so if the comp has an HDMI plug, that's great, if not, oh well.

    I want 2 or 3 USB ports.

It will also be used for music on occasion, and light internet use (no games/youtube)

Needs WiFi (most do, right?), and for a HDD, it doesn't matter, as long as its at least 100gb or so.

RAM doesn't really matter, 1gb will be fine since it won't be use heavily.

I don't want to spend anymore than about $400 (for just the computer, no monitor or other accessories)

I'm looking for something small like the Mac Mini, but I want a PC.

So yeah, thanks for the help.

  2. Yeah, MAG, I forgot about that one. Isn't that where you play like this combat specialist and get to use krav maga and shit on everone?

    No?

It's the one with 256 people in one online server, split into two companies of 128.

Each company is split into 4 platoons. Each platoon has 4 squads, and each squad has 8 people.

Each squad has a different objective.

    It sounds hella tight.

  3. The way I see pirating games:

No matter what, you're paying SOMEONE for the game, whether you realize it or not.

How did you get the game? The internet? You have to pay for that.

What did you download it on? A computer? I bet you paid for that too.

What do you play it on? An Xbox? I'm pretty sure you paid for that.

Wait, I bet you burnt the games too? So, you paid for blank disks as well...

I see no problem in piracy of games, but I think they major problem game companies have is what I said above.

It's not that YOU'RE stealing THEIR money by downloading the games, it more of you paying someone ELSE to get the game (at a much cheaper price in the long run)

  4. Awesome! glad I could help!

One last thing. Be sure to check on Amazon.com for the PVR first if you plan on buying it. My friend bought one off there at almost half the price. Hauppage had a deal with Amazon, but I'm not sure if it's still ongoing. It's worth a look though.

    Ok will do!

    Thanks again!

    Just one question.

From what I understand, this is how it would be plugged up; correct me if I'm wrong.

PS3/360 plugs into PVR, then the PVR records to the comp via USB, while ALSO sending video to the tv?

Right? So, I will still be playing on the tv, and recording on pc?

    edit-

Actually, after looking at it again, it seems to me it won't play on the TV while recording? I'm still confused... hah

  5. If you want one that will be able to capture full HD, go with a Hauppage PVR.

    Hauppage PVR

It's a bit pricey, but it's the HDMI feature that sets it apart. It's got standard Red/White/Yellow composite plugs, as well as the RGB component plugs, so it's compatable with just about everythign you plug in.

It doesn't have an HDMI, sadly. If you REALLY need that feature, you're going to have to get a converter box to go from HDMI to component, such as this:

    HDMI to Component Converter

I hope this helps. I know it's probably more than you expected, but it's the full HD feature that gives it the bigger price tag.

    ahh thank you!

It's actually less than I expected to be paying.

HDMI is not truly necessary, since I can buy ps3 hd component cables in I need to, its just that I already have an HDMI at hand.

  6. The hava only goes to 480. There isn't anything that you can buy within a good price range for 720p because they don't make it for video game systems yet so good luck on finding it. If you knew anything about youtube you would know they butcher the video quality. Also good luck finding sites that will allow you to upload 720p videos without paying hosting fees that takes bandwith that I'm pretty sure you cant afford.

I have given you one of the best on the market for recording video games, take it or leave it.

    calm the fuck down.

I know I can capture in HD, there's TONS of people that do it...

And don't tell me about YouTube quality, I KNOW what HD looks like on YT.

    Compare this:

    to this:

    Yours = really shitty.

OddLogik's = decent, not perfect, but much better than yours. it was just a video I already had open.

Don't try to say "Oh, that's a different game, so of course its better." because I know that bull as well.

  7. If you have a HD TV then this is what you need http://myhava.com/products.html

And this is the quality you will get from the hava http://www.youtube.com/user/CoachBunker

    Watch in HD

honestly those videos were really low quality...

There was no 'HD' option, only 'HQ' which was not high quality at all...

Not trying to sound like a dick, I'm just trying to find something that will record in "true" HD (at least 720p, 1080p preferred)

  8. Does anyone have an experience with using capture cards or whatever for recording gameplay?

I really want to get into it, so I need some help.

I need a capture card that has all the plugs for a 360 (non-hdmi, like so)

And HDMI for ps3 (one of these)

Also, what is the BARE minimum desktop I would need to be able to capture, edit, and upload to YouTube?

I wouldn't use it for anything else.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Alright, so I've been messing around with Premiere again, and an idea popped in my head..

Right now, its nothing special, but its something I will be working more on in the future.

It has nothing to do with car audio, but whatever... haha.

This may not seem like it was a lot of work, but it was a bitch to line up the beginning of the song with right moment when the shoes hits the ground.

Even then, I don't quite have it where I want it... lmao.

Anyway, I'll be doing more to this in the future in my free time...
