  1. i just burnt out an infinity after a month of having it, got a kenwood off warranty, to hold me over until i can decided between a few different subs, but back to the subject at hand that doesnt sound too good, mine made a similar noise to that before it burnt out, maybe take it out of the box and check to see if anything inside is messed up
  2. and with the SSD what would be the best options to get with it for my kind of usage?
  3. i know ive made a couple other threads kind of asking this question along with other questions, but i think im going to designate this question specifically for this part of the forum. right now i am trying to decide on one of three subs. -fi ssd -aq sdc2.5 -lvl3 dc im trying to choose for right now just one 12" for daily use to go with my alpine MRP-M500 amp which is 300wrms x1 at 4ohms and 500wrms x1 at 2ohms. i want to know which sub will be best for the amp until i either upgrade to a new amp if i decide to do that eventually. i know the ssd requires a more power, but if anyone thinks that my amp can handle it im open for opinions. also if anyone has any other suggestions for subs trying to stay ~200, but im open for other ideas. -Harrison
  4. im almost in the same predicament as you, im trying to build a new setup, but ive been told that the DC lvl3s are great subs, and for under 200. there is also the audioque sdc2.5 which is 600wrms along with the lvl3 dc sub. those are the two im playing back and forth between.
  5. im actually glad i found this thread, im not trying to jack it from you, but how does the audioque perform? that amp is in the exact price range i am looking for and puts out the exact power i want for my mids and highs
  6. yeah i made the decision i am going to get the DC LVL3 once my funds are right
  7. I mean like what is the range. Like the 1252w is 23hz-400hz maybe I'm thinking of something else
  8. yeah right now i think my choices are between the audioque and the dc lvl3. do you by chance know the frequency of these subs?
  9. What are the prices and where would I be able to order a lvl 3 dc? The website doesn't have an ordering or price listed. -Harrison and does anyone know the full range frequency of these three subs?
  10. someone else had suggested getting 1 lvl 3 dc if i was going to do that
  11. right now im interested in one of three subs: SSD12 DC LVL3 SDC2.5 for each one im looking at just one 12. and i just wanted to make sure the amp i have now would be able to power the FI SSD well enough. i have the alpine mrp-500 it puts out 300wrms x1 at 4ohms and 500wrms x1 at 2ohms. the thing is im using this for daily use. in since the DC and the AQ sub are closer in RMS range to what my amp puts out im debating on what to do, so i thought id get some of your opinions. and also if i got the SSD (im still fairly new to this) which options would be best to get with it? thanks -Harrison
  12. my main concern is i dont want to be seriously underpowering the sub, but a couple of you are saying the ssd would be fine, but the aq and the dc are closer in what my amp puts out. also would i be able to order a DC or would i have to go to one of the specified shops? and also any more amp suggestions?
  13. so all in all what would the best sub with my amp combination be. the dc lvl3 is 600rms along with the aq then the fi ssd is 800wrms its basically between those three, and also, are there any more suggestions for an amp for my speakers?
  14. yeah, i want to stick with a 12, can you link me to some compatible dcs? and you think that the ssd would work with the amp
  15. yeah i would only go with one of the ssd's if thats what i got. does anyone know if my amp would be able to handle that sub? or would the audioque be a better match? i was also recommended to get the alpine type r. and yeah i know that the speakers are 2ohms each which will definitely play a part in the amp i choose
  16. i have just read around a lot on here and people seem to really enjoy the quality of the fi. however the audioque ive heard good things about also. ill look for the birthsheet to see the actual number. the amp puts out 500rms x1 at 2ohms according to the box but ill check to find the sheet. as for the amp, i want to stay as close to 300 and under as possible. but no real brand preference as long as it does the job.
  17. I think it was the audioque street version (sorry if this isn't the exact model name) that was 600wrms. The fi ssd has a 800wrms.is that too much over what my amp puts out? The 6020cs is 90rms and the 692.7 are 110 rms towards the question for the amp strictly for my speakers
  18. The alpine mrp-500 is a 300wrms at 4ohm and 500wrms at 2ohm so do you think the fi q 12inch would be ok? I see that it has a 600wrms. I'm also looking into a 4 channel amp to power my speakers also. Like I said I'm happy with the 1252w it sounds great and has more than enough power I just am looking to more options for an upgrade within the month or next couple months Thanks for the quick responses guys like I said I appreciate any knowledge
  19. first and foremost, hello to all of the members on this site i have been looking on here for about a week and finally decided to sign up. ok so i am really new to the whole car sound system setups, but i am trying to learn and i am a fairly fast learner i just ask a lot of questions. right now i have a basically all infinity setup. i have 6020cs components in the front panels 692.7 6x9 speakers in the back panel (i think that is the correct model number) and then i have a 1252w infinity 12 inch subwoofer in the back powered by an alpine mrp-500 amp. for right now i am content with what i have but i was told and i also know that my amp is more powerful than i need for the sub i have an i am basically not using the amp to its more full potential so i was curious about possibly upgrading to a different 12inch sub. i like SQ but im also interested in SPL. i was looking at the fi q series 12, but i was wondering if the amp i have would sufficiently power that? i am open to suggestions and would love to hear what all of you experienced audiophiles have to say.
