  1. nah everyone was directing their answers towards the builder of the box (the custom shop) because of something i recall him saying, but then everyone just left the thread behind

nvm you did comment in it, but im looking more for tuning advice i was originally told 38 would be ok then i mentioned 38 in the thread and everyone was like no thats not going to work.

right now i think im going to buy the box 1.5 cuft tuned to 38 unless anyone thinks its an absolutely terrible idea, and then in december im going to build a box about 2 cuft maybe tuned closer to 35

  2. well i made another topic about this but it barely got any views so i thought id try in the DC section

i did some searching but didnt really find anything that helped me out

right now i am awaiting the arrival of a DC lv 4 12 inch sub and i am deciding upon enclosure specs. the thing is i am at college and i live in a dorm and dont have the supplies or tools to make a box so i talked to a local custom shop and the box that we talked about was 1.5 cuft tuned to 38 hz. i listen to mainly rock with some rap and i was told that this would be a good box for my purposes, but what are your guys opinions?

thanks for all of the help

  3. are your front speakers components? this happened to me when i first put in my speakers in the front. one of the cross overs was blown and it made both of the speakers in the front door unable to work... i mean thats what happened to me and i got a new cross over and then it worked. dont know if this helps i guess im just throwing it out there

i just did this real fast just to see if something along these lines would possibly work?

    or if i did

ive never really done any work with calculating box sizes so im sorry if im being a pain

  5. im torn right now between what to do... i was told for my car and my music taste that i can have it tuned to 40hz and still have it sound good. im going to try to get in touch with him again and see if he can explain to me his reasoning as to why he thinks he cant tune a 1.5 box to 33hz

  6. i have a full trunk, i dont know the specs off hand, but i know 1 12inch isnt going to take up the whole trunk, i was going by the specs on the DC website and it says for 1 12, 1.5cuft, i think the guy at the shop was saying that a box that is only 1.5 cuft just isnt a big enough box to have a port tuned to 33hz, but i mean according to what drew told me 38 is right in the middle

  7. i was talking with drew and the guy from the shop and they said the guy from the shop said it wont be big enough to be tuned to 33hz, and drew said that 36/37 would be good, but since i listen to a lot of rock and some rap he said i could even do 40 and have it still sound good... i drive an xterra with the trunk open to the rest of the car, i just want to know what your guys suggestions are also

  8. well i decided i am going to be getting a DC lvl 4 12 hopefully within the next week which i am pairing with an AQ1200. right now i am working on a box idea, but since i am at college i dont really have all the resources in my dorm room to make a box so i was talking to a close custom shop about building me a box for a reasonable price. ive never used a ported box, but as for size i was thinking 1.5 cuft tuned to 38hz? will that work well? right now im using a 12 inch type r in a sealed prefab box.

    what are your guys opinions?

  9. I'm not sure if anyone listens to them, but these guys kill it. Slaps so hard in my ride and I can only imagine how it would sound in some of your guys rides with multiple subs.

personally I think that this cd slams so hopefully it'll be something new for some of you if not most.

    enjoy :hairtrick:

the website I go on that has the full cds must be private... well I added a link to the song "Bassment Party" the cd is called the back sale if anyone is interested
