it is a second how would i wire it just useing it on the sub batteries not for starting
my second one now is a exturnal regulated
it is for a 12 volt system
any help would be greatfull
overheating isnt the issue... its just that the older XS-Volt units put out very little amperage at idle... so you wouldnt want it charging your starting batt. if used as a seconday batt you would need to bring up the engine RPM to play with the alt charging (if your vehicle is parked that is)

The lithium is probably for racers who want to save weight for a track car. Lithium is extremely unstable especially in heat and under load. You would never want to use that for a daily car imho.
these are fully regulated via microprocessors... it "could" be used in a daily driven vehicle but i couldnt justify cost unless i was a hardcore racer and needed the benifits that the lithium units have to offer

well i hink you knew what i meant derek, btw did you hear about my alt from matt lol?
im sure he did, but what about it? i know dennis had to work on it... has something changed since the last time i talked to you about it?
-
this is a cool dude FYI
ha... thanks man, scottie sent me over to help out in this forum...

thats not that accurate according to that you only need 2 lol
that is a vauge chart but is very effective at giving rough estimates at lower power levels, but when you step up into the realm of rediculous power (5k +) there are just too many variables to give a blanket statement on how many batts are needed for XXXX amount of power
And OP, if your wanting to do this on music i would reccomend 5-6 considering youve also got a bagged truck with pumps and such... so that would add some extra stress to the charging system

our dealer locator is currently out of commision, we are trying to get it up and running again asap

friend has a 482038SPL alt wich is designed for comp use only i would like to know how i could use this for daily it would be a second alt and is not used on the starting battery can this be done
if used as a secondary alt this could be used for a DD... will it be charging a 16v or 12v setup?
-
that piece of paper is added as a precaution because we have no idea how long our batteries will sit at a distributor (IE: Summit, Jegs, Motorstate, etc...) without being charged...
i reccomend checking the resting voltage of your battery before you install it, if voltage is above 12.7 then throw it in, if not then charge the batt just to be safe
New Site UP... Check it out!!!
in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
