  1. Max i'm looking at right now would be, 14.5 high 14.5 wide 25 long, port up sub up? only thing i really want smaller would be the length.

the box sits into the side of the cab like 5-6 inches or so, so the sub has to be kinda in the middle so it clears the interior panel.

heres RE, like i said i dont know port/tuning stuffs but thats my max dims at 1.9 cuft

  2. i just don't want it to take up more than 1/2 of the back area, i need room for camping gear and what not, and for the AQ's 10 it says 1.2-1.5 ft^3 and just using RE calc, i can get 1.3 cuft without having it to massive, i just don't know how to do the tuning and port stuff, i'll look at it more tomorrow(or friday) depending how busy i am and see what the max dims i would like to use.

  3. i woul go with a 10 if your going vent it. Vented boxs need more room to be efficent. but get some dims and i can help ya a bit

dims for if i trim the interior peices? all of them for the old box are in the link, and i was thinking a 10, i have 2 10'' comp vr's right now, and if i go with a single AQ its gonna be way better in a good box. they are loud now, but i definitely need to upgrade.

  4. Hey guys, i think i'm going to finally get around to upgrading my system and making a new box.

i have a design in mind, but its for sealed and not much airspace. so i need it larger and with a port if possible.

the sub/amp i'm going to use is still up in the air. i'm not sure if that matters to much atm, i'm not in a huge hurry.

i've been thinking about going with a AQ HDC3 10 or 12 sub.

    here is the basic design

    http://www.ranger-forums.com/f59/how-build-sub-enclosure-jumpseat-cavity-53366/

Now here is what i'd like to change.

The Red, i'd like to trim it a little more, then box can be taller/wider.

yellow isn't needed really, it just covers up a part if the interior.

blue part is an idea for the port? or the sub can be on the topside with port up or whatever you think would be best.

box will be built by my dad(he does woodworking) and me, and will probably get bedlined to not have to carpet, keep it kinda low key.

i'd also like the sub to sit down in the box, not rest on the top of it.

i can go measure inside the truck if that helps out more, just let me know if anyone is interested in this, and how much it would cost for a design.

  5. A 2200 on 2 10's is just fine for a daily beater. They can take more but thats a good amount of power for em. AQ's amps are slightly underrated so depending on your electrical and whatnot, 24-2500 isn't out of the question

what would you recommend for that then? just the copper?

and figured i'd upgrade front bat and add a battery in the back of my cab.

  6. i ended up using the RE box calc. and kinda confused myself cuz i have 2 ports in the middle for both the subs, and that only shows 1 port.

but figured its @ like mid 40's forgot it already.

so i'm actually adding some wood into my box to tune it down to 36.7xxx hz.

  7. i went and installed my old deck in there, its an older pioneer. (forgot model number) but its made in 1999. ha

and messing around with the eq and stuff to get it sound good, and when i turn it up, the hu dims hard. ha. even with the truck running, i do'nt know if its just because its really old. my stock hu doesn't dim at all, nothing did after i put the cap in.

this is dimming when the cap is still hooked up and big 3 is done.

  8. Looks like a prefab from best buy (the first box)

yeah idk i got it used/free.

Fosgates site has a box calculator link right on the main page. You will need to measure your box and then put all the measurements in to get what cubic feet your box has. I dunno how to find out the frequency of your port!

yeah, thats what i want to find out the freq. ha

  9. With the last pic, It looks like you are tuned really high because it looks like you did the same width in the "back" ports as you did in the front width.

    Sorry, kinda confusing.

just googled pictures, thats not my box sorry guys.

    just what its "like"

    don't know the dimensions atm.
