When you sacrifice time, you sacrifice quality.

So the wire fuse rating is based on the wire, not the amp fuse rating?
-
I'm not positive but 4g should be rated a little higher I THINK. Somewhere recently there was a thread with most common specs on wire. Maybe look through the electrical subforum and see what you find.
i did thats where I got 125a
-
Wire is fused to protect the wire from catching fire. Your wire should have a amp rating for it. Obviously you don't need to fuse it any bigger then what your pulling through your amp but if the amp has its own fuse it is suppose to protect itself so you just have to worry about protecting the wire.
so just stick to 125a for 4ga?

My 4g knukonceptz amp kit has a 180a fuse if that helps.
its OFC.
i thouggt u were spose to match the fuse rating on thd amp?

I was lookin at the 1600 watt hifonics brutus amp. I am lookin to run it at 2 ohms. It has 2 70a fuses on it, and it said 4g power wire is reccommended. My issues:
isnt that much amperage too much for 4ga?
I cant even find a 140a fuse
can anyone clarify this for me?

make another thread called "200amp Fuse" so I can call you a fuck

???
Under 16 what?
I think he means 16^2 inches of port area per cube. You DEFINITELY don't want to go below 12.
-
Hmm makes sense. Thanks! When porting to the side, is driver side or passenger better?

What's wrong with peel and seal and spray foam if you want to go the cheap. Not as clean way?
you'll get mixed reviews on Peel and Seal. Some say it's not as durable and you need several layers to compare to one layer of Second Skin. I would use it on my floor in a heart beat though since you don't have to worry about it sagging down and it really is cost efficient.

I enjoyed watching the finish when it busted on her face.
For real though that must have hurt like hell, I could almost feel it from just watching

Congrats on the purchase, I hear nothing but good about DC.

I'm really happy to read this !
My next box should have sub up and 2 4" ports (17" long psp round and flared on both ends) to the side. It's all I can do because I could not find elbows for the ports.
I was wondering if it can be a good solution. And you tell me : YES it is !
What side do you think is the "best" for the ports ? passenger side or driver side ?
Is it better to put the sub the farthest from the port, or in the middle of the box ?
Sorry OP for the threadjack !
its ok I was wondering that too

I AM ON MY NEPHEWS COMPUTER AND HE BROKE THE CAPS LOCK KEY...I'LL EXPLAIN THIS TO YOU SINCE YOU KNOW ABOUT CAR AUDIO, BUT I REALLY DIDN'T CARE FOR THE 1ST GUY B/C HE CAN'T TELL ME SHIT IF HE'S ONLY AT 135DB, I THINK A RAT CAN PISS ON COTTON LOUDER THEN THAT
first off, thats a rank reflecting post count. Second of all, fuck you. Ill tell you whatever the fuck I wanna tell you. Dont come on here posting like a 5 year old if you don't want criticism. But since you are so intelligent, Ill let you continue your sub up wall build. I was not disrespecting you or cursing at you for that matter in my first post what so ever. If you didn't want to be informed that your typing was annoying, tell us you have a broken keyboard. It doesn't take a genius to realize that caps lock is a pain in the ass to read.
-
my suggestion is to stop using your caps lock button and type like a civilized human being. nobody will even want to help you or bother to read that when you type like that.
-
No it shouldn't be an issue
alright cool my man thanks

for an aztek sub up port back will probably be the loudest
I know but theres no room..
-
if its positioned far enough, but the port opening is still a little closer to one sub than another, is there gonna be loading issues?
anybody?
-

I should have state this earlier; I have an Aztek so its not a car (i dont think). Is it bad to bend an upwards port though
Would this be overpowering?

I have 4 hifonics hfi's, rated at 300rms a piece. I can get a good deal on a 2600w Brutus, which does 1700w at 2 ohms. I am assuming it is overrated a little bit and doesnt actually put out 1700w. Would I be safe if I set my gains with a dmm or am I better off with a 2000w Brutus?
