  1. does the airspace in my port count as part of my total box volume?

    or do i just subtract with mdf wood used too make the port?

    my port will be slotted and falred "rounded off"

    H =15 "

    w =10 "

    depth= 21"

    now for my depth of my port...do i measure 21" from the end of the rounded edge of the port "on the outside" or the rounded end inside the port?

  2. still need to know where to measure my rounded port edge at...

    Too cr@sh

    ok i can prolly do that, so what do i do make a 10 cube box and then add my speaker and port size the recommend "witch would be less then 10 cb ft"?

    orrrr do i make my box larger so my total outcome volume is 10 cubes AFTER port and speaker added?

    this is were i am comfused

  3. when you're overpowering a sub, you wanna go with a slightly smaller box. shoot for the bottom end of the recommeded range instead of the top end.

    wow i never knew that...but wouldnt my bandwidth suffer? I really want a big box, it will sound deeper, and move more air...and too correctly power it ill just turn the gain all the way down and probly give it 2-3k

  4. Hey everyone whats up!

    question 1

    Been building my enclsure i calculated my minimal area is 126 sq inchs. so im figuring 150 is it better too be near the minimal area? or is it worth going big?

    1 18 solo x kicker in a 15.54 cube box. but i havnt added port displacment yet or speaker displacment

    question 2

    Im going too round off my port edges on both sides...but when i do that...at what point do i Measure my port length? from the end of the rounded edge? middle of the rounded edge? or begining? please let me know thanks...

    MY GOAL: maximum enclosure volume for a kicker solo x 18 i was told that is 12 cubic feet...if i am wrong PLEASE correct me...i would like the box to be at its max even after port and speaker displacment

    if you can only awnser one question please do thanks.

    =====if im asking my questions wrong and you dont understand what i am asking please let me know i will be more then happy too re explain my question>===

  5. inch^3 means cubic inches, not square inches. There are 1728 cubic inches in one cubic foot. So your sub displaces approximately .288 cubic feet of air.

    THANK YOU....

    what do i do to come up with .288 what do i calc to get this?

    OK NOW

    what is the square inch surface of x2 tens

    and x18 square so 18x18 corner too corner

    calc the 10s as being round...

    pls ty

    what im trying to do is

    see whats more cone surface x2 round 10s or 1 square 18

  6. ok i read the manuel for it and it says [exactly]

    Net displacment, inch3 (cc) 498(8161)

    so 498 sq inch i assume

    and 8161 sq cc so THE QUESTION IS

    how many cubic feet iS the solo x then?

    like .8 sq feet? 1.2? .5? HELP ME OUT THANKS

    IF U CAN TELL ME HOW DO I CALC IT MYSELF "FORMULA" SO I DONT GOTTA BOTHER ANYONE NEXT TIME.THANKS

  7. damn! I'd put a couple of those in a ported box and get busy!!

    IM prolly gunna throw them in "huge 4 a 6x9" 1.5 cubic ft sealed box.

    they are gunna be a part of the wall in my focus with my solo x for mids + highs.

    they are 300 max 150 true rms, but i throw 225rms on them.

    2 inch voice coils

    no i didnt make them they are real.

    -cedence 6x908cvl

    high sound quality. pixs explain themselvs lol lemme know if u want more.

  8. Hes thinking about it differently obviously. Hes thinking the needles are gonna move regardless though they wont in a solid setup.

    oh ic ic i get it now if i have enuff batterys and alt power witch is near inpossible for the alt. but if so my voltage will never flucuate i never knew that so even if i did hook the caps up and had enuff power supplied EVERYTHING it would be a steady 14.4v?

    i pictured 14.1-14.4

    im noob guys lol sorry least i admitt it :give_rose:
