  1. thinkin bout buying another kicker solo x, wanna buy the basket and magnet setup, no cone or coil. looking for an agreeable price. if u know someone or can find someone whos selling or will sell, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. HIGHLY APPRECIATED!! thanks guys
  2. Yeah, kicker already has some nice glue on it, they just had the 4 L bracket clamps. Its looks ugly and hidious without these brakets. in my eyes they are a must. its just too ugly without
  3. thats what im trying too avoid tho, and with the brackets they clamp down on the subwoofer surround so it supports the adheasive. Im sure the speaker surround would pull off if i burped it on 10k... it does have adheasive on it i just dont think its strong enuff for a heavy ass solo x cone.
  4. Ok so some part of my subwoofer came up missing. I called kicker they gave me my bolts for free! ty kicker lol. But they dont have the L brackets that Clamp down on the rubber surround thats on the cone. There is 4 of them that Lock together like a puzzle kinda, Mine were glued on but got pulled off and came up missing. If anyone has any extra spairs laying around with the Metal L brackets on the frame of the cone. The bolts go through them btw. if u got some extra i am interested.
  5. Hey thor By any chance am I the inspiration of the "standing on the sub trick?" Ive never heard anyone on here but me ever mention it. mine was on an 18 but it was just my 70 pound niece. lol just wondering.
  6. Hmm thx corey. I think all coils rise in impedance when hot due too the heat. Im just trying too findout if... the coil can be half damaged and i got a x2 2ohm dvc... if i put a meter thing on it how many ohms should it read? will it jump around? how do i know if my 2ohm coil is ok or half blown"if there is such a thing" lemme no what im trying too find out is, is my coil ok? how do i know if its damaged or just slightly damaged, the coil still works but its been heated up a few times so its no longer bright copper like it used too be, its kinda burnt looking round the coil but still works is it ok?
  7. coil gap question. ok its bad but what exactly would it do? would it cause premature heating of the coil? why could my sub be getting hot off 800 or so rms freeair. I KNOW it can take 1500+ no temp rise free air, well it USED TOO. that old amp was a 2k rms hifonics amp, at about 80& or so power. "als kicker solo x 18 freeair" if u wanna see the vid. The amp i free aired it on today was a kicker warhorse on its lowest setting 1krms, pushing out around 60% so like 800 or so. the bass boost was 80%up gain was slightly above min setting, I know its not for output. also the power wire was just 4gauge with a 70amp fuse up front. but it was just for testing too amke sure the amp worked.
  8. kk but looking for multiple awnsers on the damping question. cuz results vary and im looking for real results with 2-3 layers before and after db.
  9. Answer to question #3. yes damping and dynamating will increase you numbers. It stops wasted sound energy and makes everything louder. ABC, I'm curious to why you say that. I know how it works, just curious to see your explanation, because you've been asking basic questions. yea me too! only one question or so half awnsered so far.
