  1. ^^^^ nice build kanes. How are you liking those p3's? when you put the sound deadener on your roof did that make a good difference. Im looking at ways to stop roof flex later when i get my new subs in. just wondering if the deadener helped any on the flex

I am really liking the P3's, they are plenty loud. As far as the sound deadener goes I do gotta say it has helped with the flex in my roof and it is a cost efficient way to help out. I bought mine at home depot for $21 a roll and I used 2 and a half rolls on my roof and tailgate. I found out that my amp is putting out almost 1,200 watts and the P3's can take every bit of the amp at full tilt and I haven't blown them yet! I hope this helps you!

  2. Take a look at my build log cause I have the same year blazer as you. I currently have 2 12 inch P3's in a 6 cubic foot box and takes up almost all of my room in the back, so I know you can get 6 cubes back there and be below the window line. My amps are currently mounted to the speaker box cause I have no room for them anywhere else and it works fine for me. I would go with the 4 12's firing up and the port on the bottom of the box going back bouncing off the tailgate. Mine sounds hella good and I love it!

  3. Idk how I missed this thread myself! Mad props to you man, you really have inspired me to go for bigger amps and bigger subs in my blazer and now air ride also lol. You just keep making your HOE look, sound, and ride better. I think its also very nice that you do all the work yourself and then show us how to do it. Again man thank you for being a guy that never quits impressing me and have fun with the air ride!

  4. At the current moment all I have in my 2002 Cavi is 1 Fosgate SP1 12" sub being pushed by a 300w Kenwood amp... going for quite the overhaul in my opinion. Getting 1 15" Eclipse SW9152 here is where the opinion part comes in... I am really debating what amp I am going to get at the moment I am looking at the Hifonics BXi 1610D to run to this sub. With this much of a power upgrade I think I will also be getting a cap. Would like to get some suggestions on Caps as well as other options for Amps. Also do you think a yellow top and high output alt. will be needed or no?

Sorry I know alot of newb questions but not real sure about the car audio department any and all help is very appreciated.

What ohm load are you gonna go with because that amp is 1100W x 1 Chan. @ 2 Ohms and 1600W x 1 Chan. @ 1 Ohms. I would skip the cap and go right for a battery, meaning a Kinetik, XS power, or something along the same lines. If your gonna be going for the one ohm load I would upgrade the big three wires and run 0 gauge from the front battery to the back battery. Your not gonna need a high output alt with that low of wattage unless your gonna run around all day long playing it at full tilt. As far as another amp goes I would check out www.audioque.com and read about his amps. They are nice and don't get hot. Hope this helps ya!

  5. I have an extra Kicker ANL Fuse Holder with a 150 amp fuse if you want it. It accepts 4 gauge and 0 gauge if you take the shims out.

I appreciate the offer but my wire is 6 gauge and about 3 feet of the wire is discolored that followed the fuse holder. I am gonna be adding another 1000 watt amp and two more 12's to my system in February and I will get that 0 gauge wiring kit for the extra amp that I am adding. Plus this gives me a reason to yank it all out so I can deaden my floor where the subs and amps sit.

  6. Well I got a new battery the other day hoping that would fix my problem. Well I turned my stereo on and my sub amp was just barely lighting up so I opened my hood to check for corrosion and found that my fuse had melted so bad that one of the prongs split in two and that was my problem all along. Heres some pics of the fuse!

So as you can see I had to cut it out and I am now bassless cause I am gonna wait until I got the extra cash to buy this,

http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX-PK20 So this way I do it right and never have to replace my power wire again

  7. Well I no longer believe its my battery because I had it on low volume Sunday night and today and my mids/highs amp is going into protect mode. Now when I first start the blazer for the day the amps work just fine so I am thinking its my head unit! I am gonna pull my stuff out this weekend when I got the time and a nice warm place!

Forgot to add that my volts are reading at 15 now when this happens!

  8. I never said I wouldnt take the amps out and until the other day I didnt realize I had a problem. I am looking into getting a 0 gauge kit from Knuconceptz, but its xmas time and I cant spend $100 on myself right now because of my kids. I was just looking to get some advice about my problem, and I realize I need bigger power wire to get better results but when I dont got the extra money theres nothing I can do. I got the battery less than a year ago at Wal-Mart and its still under warranty, so I'm gonna take it back this weekend.

  9. Yesterday I was driving home and was playing Lets get fu**ed up by Tech 9. My head unit has a sub output on it so I have both amps running thru the head unit. I have been noticing here lately that my factory volt meter will go down to between 10 and 11 volts when I got the volume turned up more than half way. Anyways when the song was playing the main chorus the first two bass notes would hit through my subs and sound just fine but when the second two bass notes would hit it would sound like the bass was trying to go thru my mids in my front doors and they would crackle and pop. I got passive crossovers on my component set so I dont think think they went bad. Also when I got it on low volume it plays and sounds great. Namosh is thinking my alt is going out and thats why my subs are distorting at high volumes. I was also thinking its my head unit so any help on this would be appreciated!
