  1. i live in mancelona. its in a snowbelt. use to live in traverse city right near the bay. tha type r's are definately loud but i dont think they are really made for spl. although the HU goes u to 40 and i usually set it at 30 with the bass at 0. i dont have an alt upgrade yet an i do need more batteries but if i put the bass all the way up and tha HU at 32 it gets real hard to breathe an she can get really nasty. its a nice setup but i know ill be happier with some better spl subs. and thanks ill definately look at dc. ill prolly pm ya

  2. well i have to sell the subs and amps that i have right now but i figure i should be able to get around $5000-6000 k for my stuff. i was hoping to push over 5k watts rms with tha system but im not gonna put a limit on it. if i could get 8K rms i would be really happy but 5k is what im shooting for right now. this will prolly happen over tha witer cuz i live in northern michigan and winter is very soon so i figured i would do it then. i just have to rip out everything that was installed over the last year and start over . i had the local shop in town do it so it might take a while. let me know what you think is best.thanks

  3. right now im running 6 alpine type r 12's and i dont think that they're tha best for spl. ive been looking into some of what i think are good spl subs and would like to know what everyone thinks of them and what there opinions are on other spl subs they've run. my first choice is definately the fi BTL 12. i just heard of this Bravox Audio EDX12D-2 and it sounds pretty good. also looked into the MA Audio EH0152 and am seriously thinking about the DD Z12 if i cant get fi's. Now i have been told that 15's sound like crap but if they're better for spl then ill prolly go with 4 15's or if i stick with 12's ill stay with 6 like i have now, but any advice u guys can give me on the different brands and what u have run would really help me out. thanks.

oh and by the way, amps arent an issue cuz i can get as much power as i need.

  4. ok after looking into the different classes of amps. i realize that i do need a class d amp. but now im wondering if i should get 6 1000 watt monoblock amps or if i should go with 3 2000 watt amps. I was looking at some kicker, jl audio, and RF 1000 watt amps. any advice is appreciate

  5. my electrical is ok. im going to get tha big 3 done soon, but with caddys and that brilliant under the backseat battery design, ive had to put that off cuz i gotta have tha local shop remove tha boxes to get underneath tha seat. and im gonna get more batteries and a voltage module so i can turn up tha volts. thats all gonna be done soon. along with an alt upgrade. i should be able to run whatever i need. i figure 3 2500 watt monoblock amps should work good. its just which ones to choose that becomes tha hard part. anymore advice is helpful, thanks guys

  6. not really. if i get rid of my current amps i should be able to get just about anything i want. i was looking at either kicker or rockford but i just dont know. theres also soundstream, and ma, hifonics. i just want some good opinions and i can tell a lot of members use good amps here.

  7. well i would like to try to get one amp for each pair of subs, so 3 monoblock amps. right now the amps i have are really good but they are class a and i think i should go with class d. i will take power over some quality loss. I think thats how its rated, class a amps are better sound quality and class D are more power, correct me if im wrong because i just learned about that this weekend and it would be nice to know if thats what the classes are based on.

  8. I am looking for honest opinions on some amp choices. i am currently running 6 12" type r subs in tha back of my 01' deville. I have 3 MRV F900 4/3/2 channels amps pushing them. i will soon be doing tha BIG 3 upgrade as well as more batteries and hopefully an alt upgrade. i would like to know what amp you guys recommend to push them if i switch, preferably monoblock amps and i would like to stay with one amp for each pair of subs. any opinions would helpfull. just trying to get some good advice. thanks for looking
