  1. i think theyre more difficult to make fit lol. but i guess with practice ill understand more
  2. Building at a 2:1 ratio....why not? i think he is refering to how much port area 38 is alot but if you have the box built right to avoid unloading the sub it should sound really good.
  3. that should move alot of air. what tuning?
  4. with that much power i would prolly go closer to 1.5 as well as have an ass of port area i plan on doing two 18's on 3.5k with 30 per foot.
  5. alright thanks. and Ram do you have any tutorials on sketchup? i like designing the boxes on there and seeing how they look. and doing 45's and stuff at the right angle and length is long and tedious. just wondering if you have quick methods that may help a first time user of sketchup
  6. so using the sd from the manufacturer is not right?
  7. all good. not an idiot. everyone has brain farts. learn, build, and stay loud man. thanks man. on my quest with a 4th order 2 level 3 18's tuned to 45hz. hoping to bust a 150 on music! but i figured id try my hand at a tline for shits and giggles. you should pm me your cell number. i don't know how to download from my phone to the puter. i have pics of a kerfed 10" tline and of a tline for a single 15. i hope you smash 150db too. what kind of power you got on them? alright yeah ill pm you. im eager to see that tline. but hopefully either a dc 3.5k or two crecendo bc2ks strapped

  9. okay. scratch that. i declare this my idiot moment. i see where you got your number. thanks for the help
  10. ok... what calculations did you use. im confused. the SD of the alpine type r. (which is the sub im using in the Tline) is 480cm^2.. dividing that by 2.54 gives you inches which came out to be 188.98in^2
  11. yeah your right..idk where i got 8.56 thanks for catching that. but im still tryin to figure out shat sd to use there is no sd issue. if the company states the sd of the subwoofer, trust that it is correct. if you have any concern that it is not, contact the company in a professional and courteous manner asking them about their figures. but the way a sub is shaped and considering the shape of the dustcap too, i see how the figure is not the same as a flat surface. i figured the sd on DC was correct. but as IH8 punk said that there was no way that a single 12 needed 184sqin of port i just wanted to make sure that i wasnt missing something. so other than the length of the overall port that was fixed is everything else looking alright? as long as the conversion from cm^2 to inches^2 was accurate, then yes. for 184 sq. inches of port area tuned to 30hz as a 1/4 wave, then yes. i will double check the conversion from cm to inches. i used 2.54 as the conversion.

  14. thanks man thats pretty informative. ill definitely be hittting you up with questions when i start fixing everything back and getting an income again.
  15. thats what the factory said. as well as the DC website. except theirs was 494sqcm and i was supposed to do 1/4 wave. i did what that foreverbumpin guy said to do. divide 1130 by the frequency desired so 1130/30 then divide that by 4 for quarter wave to get 8.56Ft.. sorry i didnt mean to type 4.3Ft
  16. Alright thank you. The FS on the alpine is close to 28hz buying tuning the box to 30hz with 180sqin of port. The sd of the alpine type r 12 is 480sqin. Port dimensions are interior measurements at 8hx23wx4.3ft long. Does that seem about right? This is my first attempt at a tline.
  17. also are you supposed to tune the box to the Fs of your sub for best results or is that for a one not wonder tline
