those things look fuckin awesome! i want some but i have a 4th order
so i wont see them. unless they offer some structural advantage
-
yeah they should be pretty nice. hoping my math is all lookin good
-
i wouldnt recomend an xl in a sealed box. however they do put them in 4th orders. so i guess if your box is designed correctly it may work
-
the first test Tline is gonna be a alpine type r dual 2 ohm 12.
then if that turns out well i might do one for two sa12's on a bc 2k in a hyundai elantra lol (like a half wall)
my next 4th order is a wall with two level 3 18's with level 4 soft parts and some other mods. hopefully on a 3.5k
-
sounds like a plan. make sure to post vids vids vids
will do!

double post

ah ya thats one other enclosure i was considering but they big lol
yeah they can get out of hand lol. im gonna play with a few in my dads cherokee cause its big enough to do basically everything. and just see how they sound. then ill work on the size issue

thanks train. so who ever is reading this can anyone help me out with a design for a 4th? in kinda room limited and im assuming 6th orders are bigger.
I can help you pm me your goals and max dimensions and the specs on he sub
i can help you as well. i have a 4th order in my truck and it plays stupid low with alot of output. its got amazing sq i actually prefer them to ported boxes. so if space is available i would definitely do all i can to make one. im going to try out a 6th order in the future as well and i can pm how it works out.
sound good man let me know how that 6th works out!
will do. first i gotta get the Tline down

they both have great sq and great output.
however a 6th order is more difficult to tune and requires more math. there are fewer people that can help with 6th orders.
4th orders are great sounding boxes and are super efficient.
a correct 6th order can be way better overall if done right. but if done wrong it can be a complete waste of money.
check out the12volt.com and go to the enclosures part and read up on what he has to say. its a little more in depth

you guys missed my post
i just looked at that.
looks like a good suggestion, if not the only one the op has. id defintely keep that one in mind if i were him

what kind of power are you looking for?
obsidian makes some pretty good budget subwoofers. that are pretty strong.
also the DC level 2 is a strong sub that is budget friendly. i believe they have seen close to 800rms daily.
amp wise. the hifonics stuff is decent
as well as obsidian stuff produced some pretty good numbers.
idk how much the DC 1.2 k is but it will do plenty of power for the price
I was hoping 2k and a 15 :/
well getting an amp that will do 2k cleanly is gonna cost you close to 400 if not more.
the crecendo bc2k is one of the cheaper amps ive found that does rated power. and it is 300 shipped. so you might have to find some used stuff or decrease your expectations.

7700wrms at 1ohm, 14.4v saw this on another forum. hopefully its right
-
i would go more like 20 -25 per usually you go more on bandpasses because most sound is going through the port
-
good to see everything i said was explained correctly
now build the line
tlines are the easiest box to design btw at least imo
i think theyre more difficult to make fit lol. but i guess with practice ill understand more
-
wtf, yeah that will not sound too good.
Building at a 2:1 ratio....why not?
i think he is refering to how much port area 38 is alot but if you have the box built right to avoid unloading the sub it should sound really good.

wtf, yeah that will not sound too good.
why ? explain.
-
that should move alot of air. what tuning?
-
with that much power i would prolly go closer to 1.5
as well as have an ass of port area
i plan on doing two 18's on 3.5k with 30 per foot.
-
how much power you plan on running?
-
id do between 1 and 1.5 sealed.
-
alright thanks. and Ram do you have any tutorials on sketchup? i like designing the boxes on there and seeing how they look. and doing 45's and stuff at the right angle and length is long and tedious. just wondering if you have quick methods that may help a first time user of sketchup

cm^2 divided by 6.45 gets you the cone area in in^2. The cone area is measured flat across the woofer, not the actual area of the concave cone that is being used.
so using the sd from the manufacturer is not right?
4th or 6th for one 10"

id start with what kind of ratio you want. do you want more of a flat curve or a more peaky curve.
